Thundersnail Racing!
Von Lettuce Begin
In the wild world of Thundersnail, there are winners, and there are losers. This guide gives you a simple formula to win the most exciting minigame in the existence of snail-manity.

How the game works
In Thundersnail, you are chosen to champion the heroic yellow snail, the embodiment of all that is good and right in the world. Your avatar of speed it pitted against the vile red and blue snails, traitors and liars they are.

Once you accept your place as a fierce competitor, a short coundown will sound the beginning of the race, after which you need to hit the z key to encourage your snail.

The problem here is that encouraging your snail too rapidly will cause it to buckle under the enormous pressure, and lose the race, and catching on fire.
Winning the race!
Go and find a metronome, either online or if you're a super cool music nerd you might have one lying around. Set it to 60 (bpm), or as close as you can to 60 and let that run before you start the race. (It may help to mute Undertale to help you focus. You do you.)

Once you have accepted the race, hit the z key every time the metronome clicks.

When your yellow snail crosses the part of the track in the image shown, stop hitting the z key. Your snail will have enough speed to win the race.

The reason we stop hitting the z key at that point is that hitting the z key stops the snail for a second while their sempai notices them. The time spent stopped can be enough to overpower the speed the snail has gained, and lead to losing a race. Not hitting the z key after that point is more than enough for the yellow snail to win the race.
Winning even more!
As mentoned in the previous section, it is possible to get a larger reward in this minigame than is given by having your snail win the race.

Follow the setup in the previous section, but as the red snail (that one always wins if you don't,) approaches the finish line, hit the z key to slow your snail down.

I don't know the exact margin, but you want to lose by just a little bit. (Just the width of your snail's head seems to be close enough.) By doing so, you get some extra dialogue and a better reward for your troubles.

Scrugg I'm a time traveler from the year 2020. Things are awful. There's a virus called Coronavirus which is going around, WW3 might possible start, and worst of all: THERE'S NO FALLOUT 5.
