How do cooldowns work?

Seems like a lot of new players now dont know how cooldowns work and cry about them on the discussion board. Here is a short Guide on how they work.

Its like 20 lines. You dont need these

Cooldowns... You get them for a number of reasons. Here are a few.


AGGRESIVE BANS

1) Killing yourself too many times
2) Doing too much damage to your team mates
3) Killing 3 Team mates
4) Dealing a large amount of damage to a teammate in the first 10 seconds of a round.
5) Kicking too many people
6) Getting kicked too many times
7) Abandoning a match
8) VAC Authentication Error* (I find this one too be BS)

*I find the VAC auth error BS because of the fact that I got the error everyday for about 3 days straight. Then it never happened since. I followed none of the steps ETC, it just stopped.

PASSIVE COOLDOWNS

1) Every few games before your first 10 wins

ANYTHING THAT HAS A RED BAR NOT YELLOW. IS TO DO WITH VAC/OVERWATCH

COOLDOWN TIMERS

Valve must have some way of sorting out how these cooldowns are dealt with and how long they last right?... Correct, that system works in a sort of "Level" format, where each time a cooldown gets placed on you, the level then increases. The level order is as follows.

Level 1) 30Mins
Level 2) 2Hours
Level 3) 1Day
Level 4) 7Days
Level 5) 7Days +
Level 6) 7Days ++
ETC

See to get the levels to go down you need to not do anything bad for 7 days. But the problem is, if you are on level 6 and you behave for 7 days it will only go down to level 5. So If you feel like your last 5 cooldowns have been 7 day, then you better start behaving yourself.

You forgot abandoning matches and the amount of times you have to kill yourself in one game is 3 times, but other than that good article
