No Peace Council

Description
This mod allows you to skip the peace council, that would be needed otherwise to get Jarl Balgruufs approval of trapping a dragon inside his keep.
I found the council annoying and recently got an idea on how to bypass it in a lore-friendly way.

This mod adds a new dialogue option with a speech check attached to it. It is only shown, when your speechcraft skill is high enough. Every added line is vanilla voiced. (I.e. voiced by the original actor -- I used already existing lines, obviously.)

There are no dependencies (except Update.esm - every owner of the game should automatically have this) and no known conflicts.

I LOVE this mod. No only did it saved time. But I also get to hear Parthurnax's lecture, instead of Esbern who treats you like an idiot.

I actually haven't tried that. I haven't looked at the esp since I made it and, since Steam deleted the whole Data folder when I uninstalled the game to make room for the SE, I can't actually open it now to check.
Best to try it and tell me how it went.

PS: I hope your character is skilled in persuasion. ;)

Ah, then my game was probably bugged or it was the result of a mod I didn't remember. Still, this helps a bunch, with or without bugs. ^^

Thanks, but afaik, you don't need both for the MQ. If you did the civil war questline, the peace council is skipped automatically (Jarl Balgruuf will help you without further ado).
I made this mod to be able to skip the peace council without having to do decide between the CW parties.

Thank you so much for making this. I always end up beating the Civil War questline and then go on to realize I need both of the leaders alive to continue with the main quest. This takes care of that beautifully.

I personally cany stand the CW questline it's buggy as hell and Like most wars completely pointless.... I wish there was a way the game could fight the war itself without the DB involvement. The DB has enough to do just stopping Alduin from EATING the world without deciding which group of Joore gets to rule it.

What do you mean?
If you don't participate in the Civil War without using this mod, you have to do the peace council quest.
If you use this mod and bypass the council, there won't be one (i.e. the cities affiliation stays the same and the Jarls keep their 'jobs').

one last thing though, if the dragonborn stays unsided, is there still going to be a peace council? without this mod i mean
