AWE - The Second Encounter Edition

Description
Finally, after working for so long on Serious Sam 3, I have gotten both TFE and TSE and have moved on to modding those now. And the first order of the day is making my core weapon enhancement mod for them. After some weeks of slaving away at rebalancing all the weapons, (Nine in total were available to be balanced and needed balancing. Two others needed balancing but were unavailable for editing and the other two were just fine.) I am now proud to present my first mod for these spectacular games.

Q: OK. So what is AWE?
A: AWE stands for Artificial's Weapon Enhancements. It's origins can be traced back to Serious Sam 3: BFE when I thought the shotguns needed a serious buff in order to make them viable for the late game. After that, I was so impressed with the results that I began to rebalance other weapons. And more... Until I finally had almost all the weapons rebalanced and powerful and effective in their respective fields but not too overpowered at all. You can find the final results of my work for that game here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=452464725

I have made other mods for SS3 but those are all separate from the AWE pack.

But what is the overall goal of this weapon rebalancing you ask? It is simply to make each weapon more viable in more situations. Basically to make each of them satisfying and elegant tools of destruction. What they were meant to be.

Q: Cool. May I have a list of all the changes you made from the original weapons?
A: Absolutely! Since the list is so long though, I'll have to redirect you to here: http://pastebin.com/6mNYvjm9

Q: Any more details I should know about the mod?
A: Technical Details:
- No DLC needed.
- Works with just TFE or TSE or both.
- Balanced for Normal difficulty and up.
- Backed by our Kicks *** Guarantee.

Q: What were the two weapons that needed rebalancing but couldn't be edited?
A: Those would be both the Military Knife and the Flamethrower. The knife can be safely ignored though. The Flamethrower... Maybe not so much. :\ The problem with the knife (And the Chainsaw too sadly.) is that its damages are hard-coded into the game so absolutely nothing can be done about that. The Flamethrower SHOULD be able to be edited but the problem is, trying to edit the damages in any way will make the game begin to crash randomly and uncontrollably. There is hope though. Croteam has said once they have more time, they will look into the bug but until it's fixed, I'm afraid there's nothing I can do really for the Flamethrower.

Having said that though, the Flamethrower is still pretty viable as it is and it only needs a slight buff so it can still definitely be used.

Well, that's about it. Now, what are you waiting for? Time to get serious and subscribe.

@Soulmyr: Yep. Waiting for the Fusion edition of SS3 to release finally and for Croteam to update the weapon config options though. I was already wanting to go back and look over these damages and release a shiny new 2.0 for a while like I did for the much more updated BFE edition of this mod, but yeah. Ever since the announcement of Fusion, I figured I might as well just wait until that's out and then just do it all at once.

You gonna port this over to Fusion?

I have no idea. Just do a search on the Workshop for "chainsaw" without quotes.

which one!?

Although this isn't a complete solution, isn't there a mod out there that adds a Chainsaw/TSE weapons to the TFE campaign?
Wiseguy Mar 17, 2017 @ 10:48pm
because I HATE tse, but the chainsaw feature is awesome
Wiseguy Mar 17, 2017 @ 10:47pm

@ILoveGlassTooMuch: The map itself will have to be edited, sadly. HOWEVER, once Serious Sam Fusion 2017 rolls out, the damages should actually be fully editable, and I'll also be able to rebalance the Flamethrower finally.

damn, I was hoping this mod would make the knife be able to sloice things in half like the chainsaw, because I wanna slice things in half in TFE and im sad its only in TSE and I love TFE more than TSE, but if the knife damagetypes cant be changed then oh well, is there any way to swap the spawns between the chainsaw and the knife in ANY map or does the map itself have to be editted?

@Myash: With the Revolver, absolutely. The Tommy Gun, I think so but not completely sure.
