U569

Packed full of high-tech and innovative goodies, the U569 is a sea superiority unit able to take down pretty much anything assuming that it's not caught on the surface. But wait! Not only does it travel on the surface, but it will dive whenever an enemy is detected within 1km! It's also fully walkable. Neat!

The main armament is a laser-guided torpedo silo with two AA missiles just incase any curious aircraft try to come snooping around. Secondary armament consists of forward torpedoes and a close-in defensive cannon.

Although it is pretty large, the U569 is suprisingly nimble if not a little slow. Because of this the dive pattern is slower than i'd like but still serviceable. Shallow water can also be a problem due to the fact that land avoidance don't work that far down. Intentional weakness are a lack of shields and the slow speed however it's suprisingly durable due in part to smart compartmentalization and it's all-metal hull. Close-in cannons, depth charges, and anti-sub subs are arguably it's only weakness though it's depth usually negates most of these.

Built off of Ergo Proxy's Untersee-Boot VIIA-29, which dosn't have any of the automated technology but is still a very cool model

Edit: Updated engine and propulsion systems. It now goes about 9m/s on the surface and 6-7 underwater. The main engine is now a dual-engine to keep it running if it gets damaged.The Ai has gotten a bit of work done as well to keep it a bit further out of the range of cannons. Atthe moment i'd really like the cannon to have a higher AP to allow te shots to trave through water but that's going to sacrifice the armor and compactness. I'll give it a once-over again however.
