Radar & Minimap Settings Guide for CS2 & CS:GO [Updated 2025]

Find your optimal and best radar/minimap settings with a few simple commands.

How to use Commands?

Commands are entered into the console. How to open the console in Counter-Strike 2:

1. Settings Menu → Game → Enable Developer Console → Yes
2. Settings Menu → Keyboard & Mouse Settings → UI Keys → Toggle Console → Set any Button

Tip: Don't just blindly copy the settings of others. Go through each command and play around with the values to find whats best for you. Certain commands can be toggled between "off" (0) and "on" (1), while others require a specific value within a given range to be adjusted. Connect to an empty server to see the changes you're making in realtime:

Play → Practice → Casual → Infinite Warmup: Yes → Go

Radar Size

With this command you can change the size of your radar HUD:

cl_hud_radar_scale "X"

Replace X with any number between 0.8 and 1.3

Left [smallest radar size]:

cl_hud_radar_scale "0.8" 

Right [biggest radar size]:

cl_hud_radar_scale "1.3"

Size of the Map

This command allows you to scale the map up or down. It will allow you to either see less or more off the map:

cl_radar_scale "x"

Replace X with any number between 0.25 and 1.0

Left [maximum zoom out]:

cl_radar_scale "0.25"

Right [maximum zoom in]:

l_radar_scale "1.0"

Size of Icons

This command will make the icons on the radar smaller or bigger.

cl_radar_icon_scale_min "x"

Left [minimum icon size]:

cl_radar_icon_scale_min "0.4"

Right [maximum icon size]:

cl_radar_icon_scale_min "1.25"

Center Yourself [On/Off]

This command allows you to either center yourself on the radar or not. It might not sound like a major change, but when you're in a map corner, it shows a lot of areas you can't reach instead of playable areas.

cl_radar_always_centered "X"

Replace x with the number 0 to turn centered off and with 1 to turn centered on.

Left [centered off]:

cl_radar_always_centered "0"

Right [centered on]:

cl_radar_always_centered "1"

You can only choose 0 or 1!

Radar Rotation [On/Off]

Choose if you want the radar to rotate with you or not with this command:

cl_radar_rotate "x"

Replace x with the number 0 to turn radar rotation off and with 1 to turn radar rotation on.

Left [radar rotation off]:

cl_radar_rotate "0"

Right [radar rotation on]:

cl_radar_rotate "1"

You can only choose 0 or 1!

Bomb Symbol [On/Off]

Only for CS:GO!

This command will either activate or deactivate a small bomb icon under your radar which tells you if you are carrying the bomb or not:

cl_hud_bomb_under_radar "x"

Replace x with the number 0 to turn the bomb symbol off and with 1 to turn the bomb symbol on.

Left [bomb symbol off]:

cl_hud_bomb_under_radar "0"

Right [bomb symbol on]:

cl_hud_bomb_under_radar "1"

You can only choose 0 or 1!

cl_hud_radar_scale "1"
cl_radar_always_centered "1"
cl_radar_icon_scale_min "0.6"
cl_radar_rotate "1"
cl_radar_scale "0.7"
cl_hud_bomb_under_radar "1"
