Introduction - What is Native Multiplayer?
Ah, yes. Hello! I am King Harlaus, and I rule Swadia. I also write guides, as some of you may have seen this summer with my Singleplayer and North & South Guides. I had this in mind for a long time, but only got onto doing it recently. For the most part, computer issues. Anyways, here's the guide.
Basics
For the most part, the basics of Warband's Native Multiplayer are pretty much common sense. You buy a weapon, a shield, and some armor, and then go out and try to kill people while not being killed. However, the part that I'm gonna focus most on here is mainly economics wise:

You are given a set amount of denars by the server, usually ranging from 1000-10000.
You gain denars by killing people, and some are returned when you die.
You buy better weapons, armor, and ammunition such as bolts and arrows with your gained money.
You use said things to rank up and do better. You feel proud of yourself. Happy that you're doing well in a game. Then the map changes and you lose it all, just like in real life. And your childhood dreams. You hear that Timmy, you little ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥? You'll never be a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ astronaut. Or president. You're gonna be 50, fat, and working an office job while your family slowly starts hating you.

Basically you just try and get more money to kill people with.

Also, I'd reccomend listening to some music whilst playing MP. Be it in game or not. Here's five songs that fit for MP.

And for you "special" kinds:
Game Modes
In Warband MP, there are is a certain selection of gamemodes to play and fight in. They are:
Deathmatch: Free for all deathmatch until someone reaches a certain kill limit or the time runs out. Very popular.
Team Deathmatch: You and the other team fight each other until a certain amount of kills is reached. Very popular.
Capture the Flag: Play TF2 if you wanna play a mode like this since nobody plays this mode.
Battle: Imagine CS, but in Warband form. You and the other team fight each other, you die and wait until the next round. Pretty popular because after you die you can do stuff, like go to the bathroom or jerk it.
Siege: You and the enemy team fight to attack and defend a central point in a castle. Popular.
Duel: You go up to people, press F to pay respects, and then fight them. Winner gets health restored. Loser dies. Pretty popular.
Conquest: You and the enemy team capture various points. Not many servers or players, more than FaD, though. Only one I could find was "Fun_Place_Ages_8-14."
Fight and Destroy: You and the other team fight over set objectives such as catapults and trebuchets, and try to defend and attack them. Good luck finding anyone to play this with, since nobody does.
The eight types of Native MP Players
In your various journeys through the wonderful world of Warband's Native MP community, you will run into all of these players at one point or another, all of whom have their own strengths, but who gives a ♥♥♥♥ about that? You're looking to kill them. All of them.

Another thing mentioned is that all of these following playstyles aren't limited to just Infantry, Archers, or Cavalry. These are usually adapted and modified for use in the current situation.

Here are the people you're going to run into in your adventures online (pics included):

1. The Normie
Whats this say about the player using it? "I am a generally sensible player and person."
What do they look like? Average armor and average weapons, gets better with the more money they aquire.
Pros: Average player. Pretty common.
Cons: Average player. Pretty common. Usually you.

2. The Shieldwall
Whats this say about the player using it? "I AM BAD AT BLOCKING PLS NO ATAK"
What do they look like? Any armor, a good one handed weapon, and 3 shields.
Pros: Bad player. Once the shields are gone you can easily take them down. Best if Vaegir or Sarranid.
Cons: Lots of shields. You're probably gonna die before you can get all of them down because someone else will kill you. Not to mention all the shielding gives them a LOT of time to retaliate. God forbid they're Rhodok or Nord.

3. The Tin Can
Whats this say about the player using it? "I will die a virgin./I have no life./I play PW too much."
What do they look like? Heaviest armor and weapons. Usually worked up through 20 minutes of MLG Gameplay.
Pros: Common (unfortunately), so they'll be a few on your team.
Cons: Some on the other team, too. Not to mention these guys have a TON of skill. But don't worry. At least you still have somewhat of a chance of getting laid. All these guys get is ERPoon on the RP servers on NW.

4. The Spammer
Whats this say about the player using it? "I AM BAD AT MELEE PLS NO ATAK"
What do they look like? Worse-than-average armor, with as many throwing weapons as possible. Usually the ones that can also be used as melee weapons, such as axes and javelins.
Pros: Easily killed in melee.
Cons: You won't get into melee with 3 javelins in your face and when there's 12 throwing axes with your ♥♥♥♥'s name on them.

5. The History Fetishist
Whats this say about the player using it? "Historically, the sword developed in the Bronze Age, evolving from the dagger; the earliest specimens date to ca. 1600 BC. The Iron Age sword remained fairly short and without a crossguard. The spatha as it developed in the Late Roman army became the predecessor of the European sword of the Middle Ages, at first adopted as the Migration period sword, and only in the High Middle Ages developed into the classical arming sword with crossguard. The word sword continues Old English sweord.[1]"
What do they look like? The closest thing to a soldier in the real world faction is based on, like the Vikings for the Nords, Medieval Europeans for Swadians, and the IDF for the Sarranids.
Pros: Spends a lot of time getting gear. Average-better compared to most players. Tries basing real life combat styles in the game, doesn't always work.
Cons: If they're on your team they'll be too busy jerking it to Hannibal Barca.

6. The Newbie
Whats this say about the player using it? "hey guys what key to i press to type"
What do they look like? Default armor and weapon for the faction. No modification.
Pros: Either they're honest-to-God newbies, in which case they'll make quick and easy work.
Cons: Can sometimes be good players acting as them, in which case they'll cap your ass.

7. The Klansman
Whats this say about the player using it? "I am in a clan."
What do they look like? Usually like any of the other people here, but with clan tags like -PeEpEe_PoOpOo- or something like that.
Pros: Medium-rare except on most servers.
Cons: Pretty good for the most part when you do go up against them.

8. The ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ (S h i t d i c k)
Whats this say about the player using it? "OAIGONOIGSNAOIGSNOIASNIGNIN ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥-"
What do they look like? Naked deformed old people (usually black) with a name similar to "PENETRATE_PREPUBESCENTS" and the like. They run around no armor and the top teir weapons of the faction they're currently playing as. Almost never used as Khergits. These guys are actually pretty good, mainly rubbing in the fact that you are a bad player, and probably a bad person. They will run around, as stated before, naked, and cleave the living ♥♥♥♥ out of you.
Pros: Lots of these guys running around. As many as there are on the enemy team there will be on your side.
Cons: Everywhere. Pretty good. For most newbies, these guys will wreck your ♥♥♥♥.

I decided to go to a few servers and test out my theory. I compiled it in an imgur album here.[imgur.com]
Troop Stats
Native Warband works in that you select a class, say, for example, Khergit Clopper, which is given a specific level and attributes to help that specific class be better at what its meant to be. For the most part, this section is just gonna be tables, showing levels and skills of each troop that you can play as. You can find more information here. The classes, for the most part, are just divided up into three sections, except the Khergits, who have two.The classes are as follows:1. Faction Infantry2. Faction Archers/Crossbowmen3. Faction Scouts/Cav[mountandblade.wikia.com]
Weapon Basics
In Multiplayer, you'll be given a wide selection of weapons to choose from. Many of these following sections overlap with one another, however, this section will be specifically about some quick weapon related strategies.

  • Try hopliting with a good shield and a spear. Keep your distance, and I'd reccomend using a throwing weapon and a sword/axe also. As said earlier, make sure its a GOOD shield.
  • As a Rhodok, blunt weapons are your friend. Mauls and Hammers do a TON of damage, and go through armor like I go through butter. Also, the giant cleaver is amazing. Use it.
  • Harlaus made a butter joke. You better ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ upvote this, you ungrateful ♥♥♥♥.
  • As a Nord, axes are your friend. Use a 2 handed one, a shield if you're not good at blocking, and then some throwing axes. You'll tear through shields faster than this guy tears through ass.
We've all watched this guy at one point, be honest.
  • As a Sarranid, get a shield, a melee weapon, and depending on your class, throwing weapons or a bow and arrows. Sarranids have....better luck with throwing weapons, and will ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SPAM THE ♥♥♥♥ OUT OF THEM ON YOU.
  • As a Khergit, use your horses to your advantage. If you have no horse, you are ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Simple.
  • As a Swadian, use a 2h or a 1h/2h sword, some darts, and a shield. Get some medium armor and try making it up from there. The bigger swords are pretty good.
  • As a Vaegir, use a better faction.
Swords and Axes
The most basic weapons that you will be given are a bladed weapon such as a sword or axe. These can be either one or two handed, with some swords, mainly the Swadian ones, can be one or two handed depending if you have a shield or not. These do slashing and piercing damage. Actually, while we're at it, lets go over the three kinds of damage in Warband.

Type 1: Slash. This is for weapons that cut and slash, like axes, sabres, knives, daggers, and swords.

Type 2: Piercing. This is for weapons that stab, like the stab attack with spears, swords, and couched lance damage. Also the majority of thrown weapon damage, like javelins, darts, and axes.

Type 3: Blunt. This is for blunt weapons, like maces, hammers, and side attacks with spears. I'm pretty sure this is the only kind that can knock you down.
Spears, Polearms, and Lances
Polearms, for the most part, don't play that much of a role in Multiplayer from what I've seen, except for lances, so I'll just give a quick rundown on the kind of polearms used in MP.

Spears/Awlpikes/Pikes - Long, pointy, can do a stab or swing. Swings are blunt only. Stabs are pierce.

Clubs - Used by Vaegirs only. A piece of wood that looks like a turd, and has nails in it.

Glaives - Rhodok only. Pretty good. Imagine a cleaver on a stick.

And now the most important one, the lance.
Why are lances the most important, you ask?
Because, they're the easiest, the closest to being OP, and they do the most damage. Lances are only used by the cavalry classes, and they're used greatly in the hands of a skilled player. Why do you think Poland and the Mongols had amazingly well armies for their time period? Because they got a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of guys on horses with pointy spears and told them to charge at people.
Blunt (LOL BLAZE IT AMIRITE GUISE XDDDD) Weapons
For the most part, blunt weapons in this game are the side swipes of spears, polearms like staffs, but the most common blunt weapons you will find in Multiplayer will be things akin to clubs, maces, and hammers, a prime example being the Rhodok Mauls and Hammers. Most blunt weapons swing a little slower then compared to other weapons, but they make up for it in the fact that they get through armor pretty well and to a ton of damage while doing so. They can also have the added bonus of being to knock people down, enabling you to beat the ♥♥♥♥ out of them while they're down, like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ white kid in the suburbs.

Basically imagine this.

Also, things like horses charging and fists/kicks count as blunt damage.

Maces are suprisingly well for being an all around type of weapon, unless you're dealing with shields.
Bows, Crossbows, and Throwing Weapons
These are the main way to kill people without getting up close to them. Depending on the faction, you're either be a Crossbowmen (Rhodok/Swadian) or a Bowman (Everything but Rhodok/Swadian). For the most part as those specific classes, you'll be put out onto the field with either a bow or a crossbow and some ammo. Most of the time it is free, but like everything else you can rank up your weapons with more denars.

Throwing weapons are for Cavalry and Infantry classes, and come in the forms of Axes and Javelins/Jarids. They do more damage per hit but cost much more and are very limited in ammo. However, you can pick up missed shots like with bolts and arrows.
Shields
Another important factor in this game is shielding. Shields can be a difference between life and death. However, they only cover your front for the most part. That means if someone's behind you, this will happen:

Shields are usually dependent on the faction you're using to play. Swadians, Vaegirs, and Sarranids have kite shields, unless you're cav, the Swadian heater shields are basically kite shields. Rhodoks have board shields, Nords have Nordic shields, and Khergit have cavalry shields. The best ones, at least from what I've seen, go in this order:
1. Rhodok
2. Nord
3. Swadian
4. Sarranid
5. Khergit
6. Vaegir.

Seriously, Vaegirs are cost effective, but they're just ♥♥♥♥.

If you're into the more prickish sort of playstyle, I'd reccomend buying a good weapon and then 3 shields you can use with it. Use the next one right after your shield is broken by scrolling down.

Shields are also affected by heraldry. If you don't like the current design, change it in your character's options.

You'll look like this, but he'll always get more poon than you.
Tactics
I'll just divide this up into three sections depending on what class you use.

Infantry
  • Depending on the map, you're usually the backbone of your force. Travel in groups, use it to your advantage. Exploit friendly fire and take advantage of it, regardless if its on (try and get enemies close and hit each other) or off (go all in on them).
  • Use all you can. If you see a weapon you're better with or a weapon thats better, or a better shield, throwing weapon, etc, pick it up. It could help a lot.
  • While at that, a good loadout in my opinion, for infantry at least, is a good shield, a 1h sword or axe or a 1h/2h sword or axe, then a 2h sword/axe/bardiche thing, then a throwing weapon.
  • Use the throwing weapons to your advantage. Even a few throws can damage a shield or really weaken up an enemy. Pick up your misses if you can.
  • Two handers and some polearms are generally better against shields than other weapons.
  • Also, if you're behind someone, use a 2her or a polearm upswing (angle mouse up, animation is character bringing it down at target) to give them a quick finish off. Looks pretty nice too.

Archers
  • Some servers have a minimum 2500 denar spawn count. Sarranid Archers can be given max equipment levels for just inder 2500 denars. Use that to your advantage.
  • Always get 60 arrows if you can. Don't bother with shields unless you're picking them up.
  • Vaegir archers don't get much, unfortunately. Have fun clubbing people do death like a Canadian around seals. Double points if you listen to Chuck Mangione while playing as one.
  • This should be common sense at this point, but for all of you, *ahem*, people that have been "Touched by God" in that way (not the Catholic way), the aiming reticle begins to fluxuate a few seconds after aiming it, potentially ruining your accuracy. Make your shots quick.
  • Crossbows and throwing weapons don't do that.
  • Throwing weapons generally do more damage per hit, especially Jarids and Heavy Axes.
  • Use the infantry and cavalry to do the melee dirty work.
  • Unless they're an previously mentioned ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, try aiming for the head.

Cavalry
  • You don't always need a horse. Right click to get rid of it, mainly on sieges.
  • Always try using a lance if you can.
  • People will try to jump up and hit you. Watch out for these people.
  • Horses are NEVER free.
  • Horses are different. I'd usually reccomend a Hunter or a Courser.
Warband Clans
Throughout the Multiplayer scene of Warband, there are many multiplayer Clans. Unlike NW and other mods like NaS, for some reason most of these guys on Native are European, at least from what I've seen. Many of these clans participate in tournaments and the like, and at least from what I've seen, if you're good enough, sometimes there is some sort of monetary award. So you can join what you want, and if you do, you might get paid. Closest thing that Warband has to MLG ♥♥♥♥.

Money and ♥♥♥♥.

youll never be as good as the csgo players though so gg

either way all mlg guys are virgins

like you
Conclusion
make calradia great again
