Slums Easter Egg #1
The earliest easter egg in the game you could get is the EXPcalibur, the fabled Sword in the Stone weapon. To reach the location, travel Southeast of the tower, toward the coastline. If you traveled to the correct coastline, start swimming towards a rock in the middle of the water. If you are on the correct rock, you will see a zombie corpse with a sword sticking out of it. Go to the sword and hold whatever your interact button is (F for PC etc) and hold it for about 3 minutes. Once you have picked it up, keep looking away until the zombie corpse has burned away and has left you a blueprint for the EXPcalibur. Then take the blueprint for yourself! The only downside of this weapon is it breaks in only 7 hits, so use those 7 hits wisely! But then again, you can always craft more!
Slums Easter Egg #2
The Korek Machete is a Developer's weapon that players are able to acquire. First, mark a waypoint on your map that is marked at the C looking building. A grappling hook is recommended but not required. If you don't have a grappling hook, then climb onto the AC unit. Then jump onto the light behind you. Once you’re on the light simply climb onto the balcony right beside you, then move to the corner of the building and look towards the middle balcony area with the metal bars. Climb onto them, and climb up until you’re hanging from the top of the railing in the screenshot below. Once you’re hanging at the top of the railing, look behind you, aim up towards the ledge above, and jump. When you jump onto the ledge, jump from that ledge to the middle one. Climb on the side railing here. Once you are on the roof of the building, look for crates and barrels piled and jump into the little alcove that contains a box. Kick the box about 76 times. You now have the Korek Machete blueprint!
Slums Easter Egg #3
This easter egg is not a weapon, but merely something to enjoy. Dancing zombies! During the Werewolf Escort Mission given to you by Babar, go into the second hanger and right by the entrance inside, turn on the power box and enjoy the mini show.
Slums Easter Egg #4
Once again, this easter egg is not a weapon but something that is just in the game for players to find. The wall in front of the tower has pictures of what seem to be developers from Techland.
Slums Easter Egg #5
This easter egg is a reference to Destiny. It is the Dying Light version of Destiny's loot cave.
Slums Easter Egg #6
If you have visited Crane's room and noticed a guitar and played it, he isn't very good, is he? Well, during the quest "Siblings", you can change that! When you go into the school with Jade, there is a guitar in a cabinet, along with a book full of guitar lessons inside of a classroom near the library. But get it when you are there, because once the mission is completed, you can't come back for this.
Slums Easter Egg #7
When you are in the tower, go up to the roof and walk around it until you find a checkerboard on the table. Interact with it, and go back downstairs and sleep. Keep repeating this until there is a blueprint for the sick bomb, which has an unusual effect on foes.
Slums Easter Egg #8
Techland is the developer behind the First-Person Shooter, Call of Juarez. While on the Gunslinger mission, pick up the Ray McCall figurine in the pawn shop. Go back to Crane's room and interact with it.
Old Town Easter Egg #1
Some of us have played Super Mario Bros. Well, Dying Light has it's own Super Mario Bros, with Zombie Goombas! There is a blueprint for the Pyza suit, which allows you to fly like 5 feet then fall. Don't jump off high buildings with it! In Old Town, look for the final building in the Southwestern corner of the map. Go on top of the house and look in the chimney. There's a green pipe that leads to World 1-1! When you get in there, you can stomp on some zombie goombas for fun. Just like in SMB, there is a hidden block. Before the first gap you jump across, go to the last brick and back up 5 bricks and jump. The Pyza blueprint is on top of the pink cube in the air.
Old Town Easter Egg #2
While on the Bunker mission in Old Town, be on the lookout for the goal that tells you to Get Inside the Bunker. Head into the Town Hall and immediately go up the stairs. Position Kyle in front of the elevator and wait for it to open. Out pops a zombie that resembles a Clicker from the awesome PS3 and PS4 game, The Last of Us.
Old Town Easter Egg #3
While on the quest Rupert the Gunsmith, you are to go to the "Magic Fortress". From the room with kids and Rupert, go down 1 flight of stairs and enter the room on the left. You should see a cuddly pink bear sitting on a pile of bean bags. Keep interacting with the bear until it starts to get more annoyed, until eventually BOOM! It explodes. But don't leave just yet. Go back to where the teddy bear was. You now have the blueprint to craft the Stasis Field Projector.
Old Town Easter Egg #4
This weapon is the Left Ball of Glova, perhaps referencing the Right Hand of Glova in Techland's other zombie game, Dead Island. You must find 2 very hard to see stones. I won't say where they are, because I cannot dive into how specific they are placed. So watch the vid instead.
Old Town Easter Egg #5
And last but certainly not least, we have... wait for it... a Plants vs. Zombies easter egg!
