Creating a new profile
The easiest way to create a new profile is to make one from a recently run process. Make sure Controller Companion is running and them simply launch the game you want to create a profile for:

Let the game run for a few seconds and then exit it again and go to Controller Companion settings. There you'll want to go to the Profiles section, click the Add button and select Recent Processes, it should look something like this:

Click the menu item for your game and your profile will be created. Now you can click the profile and go edit it:

From here you can edit all the bindings and change profile settings.

When you're happy with your profile, simply press OK in the profile editor and Apply or OK in the settings window and then the profile automatically loads when your game is running!
Upload profile to Steam Workshop
Now you've created your profile, it's time to upload it to the Profile Workshop.

Once again go to Settings under Profiles and click your profile.

This time choose Export->Upload to Steam Workshop

This will show you the Workshop uploader dialog:

You'll want to select Create new workshop item and then you can choose to upload a preview image for your profile. It should be square.

You can always chose to upload the image later, in which case a default image will be generated based on your game's icon.

Press the upload button and if all goes well you'll be taken to your new Workshop item in Steam:

Here you'll want to customize the title and description of your profile and share it with the community!
Update profile with changes
So you've decided to improve on your profile? Or you want to upload a nicer preview image? It's easy, go back to the profile and export it to Steam Workshop again and you'l get a dialog with the Steam workshop ID already filled in.

Choose your preview image if you want and then press Upload.
Subscribing to profiles
To subscribe to profiles you need to go to the Steam Workshop for Controller Companion. Here you can browse other profiles and if any catches your fancy simply press the subscribe button.

Once the item is subscribed you'll need to open the settings for Controller Companion. The reason it doesn't automatically update is technical and related to the app not showing up as "In-App" in Steam. In settings you can go to profiles and it should show up.

If it doesn't you can refresh the profiles list by clicking the "Refresh Workshop Profiles" button:

From here you can customize the subscribed profile if some bindings are not to your liking. Any changes you make to the bindings will stick around even when there are updates to the workshop profile. You can also unsubscribe profiles directly from settings.

One thing to note about workshop profiles is that they by default cannot launch other processes! This is for your own safety! If you don't care about safety or trust the author of the profile you can approve a profile for launching processes in the profile settings:

Is it possible to upload the edited 'Desktop' bindings to the workshop? I mean, not tied to any particular app or executable.

Ok thats it i had to select at least one game from recent processes, and click on refrsh.. after that was steam icon added even to already added games.. I would say that is bug with some steam library folders detection..
