I think the first one I punched down had around 3400. I know after the tame was cleared on this one it had over 5000 Torpor, so the maths of this game continue to be magical/douchebaggy.

Because they're deepsea dwellers and don't follow you long enough to get to the surface.

True, but I lost a Mega to the cave near that taming location hours before I did this record and due to the #BalloonAnimal physics we currently had lost every bit of prep work. This was a classier option.

The cave at 83 Long 10 ish lat is a good place because they aggro but cant get in the cave. You can shoot them with Tranqs from there
