Plane bare white when it should have a texture? This could fix it!
By Taco Bell Spicy Tostada
In FSX-SE, there are some weird things that can happen. One that i found is that the plane is bare white, No texture at all! Luckly, i found a fix (and some of you may of too) but this guide should help some who dont know how to fix this!

Figure out what plane has the issue
For this guide, i am using a WOAI plane i just added a panel/sound file from a deafult plane, and it works very well. But, it does not have a texture, as you can see in the photo.
If you have a plane like this, either you dont have a defined texture or you have a issue showing the texture.
Whats the issue and how do i fix it?
The issue (for me at least) is that having the DirectX10 Preview on renders some planes like this, and luckly its easy to fix too.

First, navagate to your settings, and open up the graphics settings. Youll see a button called DirectX10 Preview.
Go Ahead and unclick that box
Click Okay, and restart FSX.

Go back to the aircraft, and voila! You have the textures back!
Conclusion
This should fix any issues you have with untextured aircraft. If you have any others, assume that the textures are not defined in the aircraft.cfg file (or you just dont have a texture!)

(This is my first guide, any conscructive critisim is apprecieated!)

no i said that wrong i thought this was a way to fix dx10. dx9 is the only way to run fsx without a problem like nick said in the fsx bible, you would have to remake alot of librarys to get dx10 to work flawlessly

dx 10 hardly looks different its not even a big step up from 9.

that won't fix the problem ive been with this program since release. most addons were made for dx9

This is or has been a known issue with FSX for quite a few years now.

Direct X is backwards compatible. So there should be no issues at all in running DX9 rendered graphics on a DX10 capable machine.

The DX10 option was a demo when FSX first came out years ago and wasn't fully implemented / supported even after a couple of service packs. There are payware 3rd party programs that will allow you to run FSX in full DX10 and help to fix these texture problems.
