P250

The P250 does slightly more damage than the 9mm Pistol and has a longer effective range, but at the cost of a smaller magazine capacity. This is a good weapon for more accurate shooters and those who like a more powerful side arm. It is possible to kill a full kevlar player in about 3-5 shots, depending where you aim.
Never underestimate this weapon in the hand of a skilled player.

STATS:

Magazine size: 8 rounds
Ammo type: 9mm Ammo
Fire Mode: Semi Automatic
Range: 120m
Rate of Fire: Medium
Recoil: Medium
Reload Time: Fast
Sway: Low
Damage:
(NO ARMOR:)

Body shot: 34 Dmg
Headshot: 84+ Dmg
(KEVLAR ARMOR:)

Body shot: 17 Dmg
Headshot: 56 Dmg

(TIPS FOR USING:)

Stay on the move, don't stand still since it has very low sway, use that to your advantage and jump into cover to avoid getting shot, you're best using it at close to medium range.
Control your recoil and fire consecutive shots, try sneaking up on someone and get a headshot before you reveal your location.

Attachment Advice:
Never use a Holo sight or a silencer on a P250, they both will make it 10x harder for you to aim and most likely miss more shots, Laser sight is okay.
9mm Pistol

The 9mm Pistol is based off of the Beretta 92FS (a.k.a. "M9").
This isn't the best gun to use you're better off using a P250 as it does more damage and has less sway tho it has a larger magazine capacity than the P250. This makes the pistol great for situations where frequent reloads can be dangerous, such as hard-to-hit enemies or multiple assailants.

STATS:

Magazine size: 12 rounds.
Ammo type: 9mm Ammo
Fire Mode: Semi Automatic
Range: 80m
Rate of Fire: Medium
Recoil: Low
Reload time: Medium
Sway: Medium
Damage:

(NO ARMOR:)

Body Shot: 25 Dmg
Headshot: 60 Dmg

(KEVLAR ARMOR:)

Body shot: 14 Dmg
Headshot: 43 Dmg

(TIPS FOR USING:)

There isn't much to say about this gun, just don't move alot since the gun sways like crazy. You're better off firing faster than the P250 due to the low recoil it has.
MP5A4

The MP5 is one of two automatic weapons. Though expensive to make, the MP5 boasts good damage, fast automatic fire, and a higher capacity than the pistols, making it great for extended engagements or multiple foes.

STATS:

Magazine size: 30 Rounds
Ammo type: 9mm Ammo
Fire Mode: Automatic
Range: 80m
Rate of Fire: High
Recoil: Low
Reload Time: Medium
Sway: Low
Damage

(NO ARMOR:)

Body shot: 25 Dmg
Headshot: 75 Dmg

(KEVLAR ARMOR:)

Body Shot: 14 Dmg
Headshot: 43 Dmg

(TIPS FOR USING:)

Get up close and spray, Its fast fire rate and low recoil makes it excellent for close-ranged engagements. Don't even think about firing this gun at a long range.
Try to strafe side to side and don't stand still, remember you have a very low sway, make sure you're hitting your shots because watch out this gun runs through ammo like crazy.

Attachment Advice:
Holo sight will make the gun alot easier to use, in my opinion a Silencer is a must-have on an MP5 as it gives you that 10% less recoil, you don't need to worry about the range decrease as you will be using this gun up close anyways.
Shotgun

The Rust Shotgun is based off of the Benelli M3 chambered in 12 gauge.
Devastating for close range combat but lacks at long range.

STATS

Magazine size: 8 rounds
Ammo type: Shotgun Shells (duh)
Fire mode: Pump Action
Range: 40m
Rate of fire: Low
Recoil: Medium/High
Reload Time: Medium
Sway: Medium
Damage: 160 (Depends on how many pellets hit the target)

(TIPS FOR USING:)

The shotgun is an extremely powerful weapon, albeit at close range only. Due to the combination of low range and high pellet spread, the shotgun is only useful where engagements are limited to only a few meters and usually kills people with 1 shot to the head. the shotgun is easily outmatched at range, where even a 9mm pistol can easily outdo it.
The best way to use it when outnumbered is to run whilst pumping and jump around like a maniac, never stay too far away from your target. The best tactics for the shotgun are either to rush at your enemy or hide somewhere to surprise someone.

Attachment Advice:
The most recommended attachment for such a weapon is the laser sight, as missing by an inch with this gun will give your foe more than enough time to counteract. I do not recommend a Holo sight as it may be unaccurate.
M4

The M4 is a very capable weapon, which makes it highly sough-after. It is considered one of the end-game weapons and It is hands down the most powerful compared to every other weapon.

STATS:

Magazine size: 24 Rounds
Ammo Type: 556 Ammo
Fire Mode: Automatic
Range: 140m
Rate of Fire: Medium
Recoil: High
Reload time: Fast
Sway: Medium
Damage:
(NO ARMOR:)

Body Shot: 32 Dmg
Headshot: 100 Dmg

(KEVLAR ARMOR:)

Body Shot: 23 Dmg
Headshot: 66 Dmg

(TIPS FOR USING:)

This gun takes time to master as you need alot of practice with it.
The M4 has both vertical and horizontal recoil, for the Vertical recoil just drag your mouse down when firing and don't spray, The Horizontal Recoil is Unpredictable and Impossible to Control.
In a Gunfight strafe with the A D keys and use them for aiming, use your mouse for raw adjustments and for controling recoil. When shooting at a range crouch as it gives you more accuracy and decreases your sway, this will help you alot since all you need is to get as much shots in as possible, Headshots are the key so succes.

Attachment Advice:
Holo sight will significantly improve your accuracy when shooting, The default iron sights are awful but you could get used to it. For the Silencer it is up to you to decide if you want to use it or not, if you're bad with controlling recoil a silencer might help you unless you prefer having long range fights with the M4 and dealing that extra little damage then don't use the silencer. Laser sight will improve your hipfire accuracy and will help you identify if your target is out of range or not.
Bolt Action Rifle

The Bolt Action Rifle is a powerful weapon found in the game Rust. It is one of the deadliest weapons in the entire game if in the right hands. Its primary use is a sniper rifle.

STATS:

Magazine Size: 3 Rounds
Ammo Type: 556 Ammo
Fire Mode: Bolt Action (duh)
Range: 250m
Rate of Fire: Low
Recoil: Medium/High
Reload Time: High
Sway: High
Damage:
(NO ARMOR:)

Body Shot: 65 Dmg
Headshot: 100+ Dmg

(KEVLAR ARMOR:)

Body Shot: 37 Dmg
Headshot: 100+ Dmg

(TIPS FOR USING:)

This isn't a weapon to go out with hunting, it's main use is for defending your own base or during a raid as you will be standing still while firing most of the time. Always crouch wehn you can as it decreases your sway and gives you more accuracy allowing you to hit more shots at a long range.
They are great for raids, as one could have a teammate position themselves on a hill watching the selected base to raid with the weapon.

Attachment Advice:
The role of this weapon is to be a sinper rifle, and this use can be improved by adding a Holo Sight. Silencers are useful as well, but they decrease the damage, i'd recommend a silencer if you're trying to sneak up on someone. Laser sight is okay if you want to practice being an MLG noscoper. (like me =D)
Attachments
Silencer :
Not many players actually know how silencers function in the game, some players hate it because it decreases the range others love it and love how it sounds.
It Decreases Range by 30% decreases damage by 15% and decreases Recoil by 10%.
It is up to you to decide wether to use it or not, i prefer using it on the MP5A4 more than any other gun.

Laser Sight:
the laser sight inreases your hipfire accuracy, it is recommended to have on Shotguns.
Watch out as it can sometimes reveal your location, you can turn it off by pressing "G" on your keyboard.

Holo sight:
I Recommend using this on all your guns Except the P250 and Shotgun.

I didnt see anything about a Silenver on the M4.. Would have been great to added it. :)

Well yeah alot of stuff is personal preference but you'd be wasting a Holo sight on a p250 that would still perform greatly without one. And actually silencer on a shotgun decreases damage and range, the shotgun's range is already limited so i guess why would you want to decrease it?
For the 9mm i guess you're right but then again, P250 is just way better in every way and not everyone is good with the 9mm. Anyways thanks for the comment it is much appreciated :)

Guide seems to state a lot of things like its fact when a lot of the things are opinionated. Like the p2 for example, in the guide it says that the holo sight is a useless attachment and makes it 10x harder to aim on the p2. Well its more personnal preference, I actually find it a lot easier to use the holo sight on the p2. And why wouldn't the silencer be good advice for the shotgun? I mean, it's a close range weapon...putting a silencer on it does way more good than bad. And lastly, the guide completely throws the 9mm pistol down the gutter when it is actually a very op weapon in the hands of a skilled player. you can shoot it faster than an mp5 and do tons of damage with the very little recoil it has at close range.

Other than the thing's I stated this guide is pretty spot on.

well done
Hawk  [author] Apr 12, 2015 @ 3:21am
And trust me P250 is way better without a Holo sight.
Hawk  [author] Apr 12, 2015 @ 3:13am
You wouldn't put a holo on a p2 and shotgun because it doesn't make it any easier and you're just wasting weapon mods on guns that don't need them. hope this helps. :)

thank you!
