Introduction
There are multiple ways to earn crowns, some easier than others. Each way has its own speed and effectiveness at earning crowns. In order from slowest to fastest; Energy Depot, playing levels, Selling to Vendors, and use of the Auction House.
Energy Depot
This method involves the use of energy trading. To do this, you have to go into the Energy Depot and look at the exchange rate between crowns and energy. The point of this is to buy the energy at a low price, then sell it when the prices are higher. When buying energy, the price should be between 6,000-7,500 crowns to insure a profit. When selling, look for the prices to be around 8,000 crowns or higher. Then you exchange the energy bought earlier in for this new price. Usually the profit is at least 500 crowns, though it could range higher or lower. Buying energy with real money, then exchanging that for crowns greatly improves the payout, but energy is very overpriced and I would not recommend this.
Playing Levels
By far the most common and used method out there, though it may not be used to its fullest. While using the Normal difficulty may help a player make it through a level, (useful in Rank or Prestige missions), it has the lowest payout. As a player begin to use the Advanced and Elite difficulties, the payout grows higher. On average, Elite difficulty collects approximitly 40% more crowns than on Normal difficulty, with Advanced running the middle at around 20% higher than Normal. For example, playing Firestorm Citidel on Normal would get a little over 6,000 crowns, while playing the same level on Elite would get over 10,000 crowns. PLaying on harder difficulties also has the added perk of a chance of an Orb drop from prize boxes. The most well paying boss levels are in order from most paying to least paying are: Vanaduke, Royal Jelly, Roarmulus Twins, Snarbalax, The Collecter. Note that this is from a Vanguard's point of view. If you are a lower rank, usually the boss at your rank is the most well paying.
Selling to Vendors
This is the second most effective method, though it relies on runs through missions or the Arcade. In this method, you sell materials, trinkets, armor, weaponry, etc. to vendors in the Bazaar for a fixed crown return. The going rate for materials goes as follows: 0* and 1* = 1 crown 2* = 5 crowns 3* = 10 crowns 4* = 25 crowns 5* = 50 crowns. Due to these low returns for seemingly expensive materials, I recommend the use of the vendor Brinks to get higher payments. The idea is to trade tokens to Brinks for high starred trinkets, armor or weapons, then selling them to a vendor for crowns. The highest paying seems to come from Almirian Seals, (Ancient armor or Fang of Vog), or Jelly Jems, (Jelly armor and weapons). Also, any high starred trinket pays well; typically 4* or 5*.
Auction House
The highest paying method out there for one of the shortest time frames, (maximum of 2 days). The only drawback is that it is somewhat tricky to use. The idea is to strategically sell high star items for the lowest price. For example, if you want to sell a Plague Essence, then you search the Auction House for that material. If there is over ten entries for the searched material, then the price is likely to continue to drop and is thus not worth trying. On the other hand, if there are only a few entries, then that is where you want to sell the item. You want your Buy Now price to be around 100 crowns lower than the lowest existing price, and your Bid Price to be 100 crowns lower than your buy now price. Example:

If the lowest existing entry is: Plague Essence Bid Price: 1,600cr Buy Now: 2,000cr
then your entry should be put in like this; first, put the buy now price 100 crowns lower, (1,900cr). Then, put the bid price 100 lower than that price, (1,800cr). It would look like this when done:

Your Entry -> Plague Essence Bid Price: 1,800cr Buy Now: 1,900cr
Lowest Existing Entry -> Plague Essence Bid Price: 1,900cr Buy Now: 2,000cr

It is up to you to decide how much you think something is worth, since sometimes the prices can dip extremly low. I also should note that anything under the Almirian Seal category from Brinks sells very well, (up to 300,000 crowns), as they are rare items.
Conclusion
Using these methods, you should be able to easily collect more money for your projects, and should also speed up your ranking process. Happy hunting!

best thing for energy market farming is sell the energy for 50 crowns less than the lowest price for selling, and buy it for 50 crowns higher than the lowest others are buying it for.

If you need that much money, then most of the things on the guide would not work. The only way to get that much in one day is to spend real money on energy, and then convert it to crowns. However, that would be very expensive. It all depends on how much you want whatever you are going to buy with 600k. If you think to would be worth it, then go ahead.
