Vancouver, BC, Canada (V2)

A map of Vancouver, BC, Canada and the surrounding lower mainland. The map starts you off near the centre of the map (near New Westminster). When using the 25 block mod, the entire area is playable from North Vancouver to almost the US boarder and out east to Surrey.

This is the second version of my other map. The only change is I have slightly widened the river north of Stanley Park, just enough for ships to pass, so the ships will now enter the Vancouver Harbour. You can now build shipyards and cruise ship harbours in the Vancouver harbour like they are in real life.

Just like version one, everything (rivers, highways, trains, etc) on the map is as accurate as I could make it while keeping the map playable. It took some time editing it by freehand after importing the heightmap, since the heightmaps don't work well for low elevation areas. I have added resources to the map where they would usually be found in reality, except for oil and ore which were added in what would be likely locations. Ships run along the coast, as well as into the Vancouver harbour and Boundary Bay for better gameplay. Air traffic takes a path across where YVR would be placed. Animal spawn locations have been set at the base of the mountains.

I have updated the map a few times to make it more playable. Smoother terrain, better bridges, straighter roads. If there's any improvements you'd like to see, let me know. Enjoy!
