Circle-Strafing

And that's why I don't bother to equip Mad Milk and laugh at Scouts who waste all their upgrade money on Resistances.

When you don't have the luxury of shooting robots in the butt while they focus on something else, run around them while holding down M1, preferably with Movement Speed fully upgraded. The tighter the circle, the better. For use with: Scout, Pyro, Spy, Conch Soldier, Demoknight, Battle Medic, etc.

Fun Fact: This is a standard Giant Heavy with Expert-level AI. The Giant Heal-on-Kill Deflector Heavies found in Two Cities, for example, are actually much slower than this one (hidden stats) and have an even harder time tracking fast targets with their Minigun.
Blocking

NOTE: PAY ATTENTION TO THE MAGICAL FLOATING BLUE SIGNS PRIOR TO THE START OF EACH WAVE.

One of the biggest mistakes made by newbie Engineers is to build a Sentry nest up high where their caveman instincts make them feel safer. One of the major pitfalls of this strategy is that your Sentry doesn't physically halt the progress of robots, such as Super Scouts, that can make it through the killing field alive if Red Team isn't putting out sufficient DPS.

In lieu of a Sentry Gun, any class can use their body as a barrier, especially the Heavy, but Sentries are immune to critical hits, can't be stunned or knocked back, etc., so they're usually the best choice for this.

Do not attempt to block giant robots with Dispensers or Teleporters. It won't work.

Giant robots WILL eventually make it over or around an obstacle, so you may need to use the Wrangler to kill the bot faster. Alternatively, Crit Canteens have the same effect on Sentry firing speed as the Wrangler if you're too busy Rancho Relaxo-ing.
The Beggar's Bazooka
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AyTxth4c6kM

Yeah, I guess you're supposed to play this with teammates.

The Beggar's Bazooka is not just the cheapest Soldier primary to upgrade. it also has the ability to fire rockets endlessly at a high rate as long as it has ammo, turning the wielder into a spectacular one-man army that can bring down almost anything he enounters. Almost.

Use it properly: most of the time, you should be clicking Mouse 1 furiously. Don't wait until your clip is full to release your rockets. Don't waste money upgrading Clip Size. Don't even bother upgrading Firing Speed on the Bazooka until you have cash to burn.

I had forgotten that this existed.
I'll think about it.

Do you have any intentions to revive this guide with your more recent, in-depth videos?

Big Earner's speed boost on kill takes some getting used to, but it can be quite useful in combination with the Dead Ringer's speed boost. You never really need full cloak on DR in MvM, so the change to that could arguably be a slight buff. It's certainly not the huge nerf people who don't know how to play Spy are assuming it is.

Air Strike is almost as good as Stock now. I Haven't tried Natascha or Brass Beast, but they both probably got a lot better. Not much has changed, really. They just patched the Scorch Shot glitch, after all. That was the worst.

Hey CAR_, what's your opinion on the recent changes to weapons (especially Spy's) in MvM? How does this affect how you'd play? Do you think it's better or worse?

Thanks, though I've actually been out of college since December, and haven't studied full-time for a whole year. I was just living with my parents for my first few months of full-time employment.

Good job on College, btw.

Still a legitimate point. I need to start working on this again now that I'm basically settled.

I was joking lol.

I just moved into my first "real" apartment after graduating college recently. The "Ongoing" might indeed be an optimistic adjective at this point if I'm lazy, but I really have had a legitimate excuse for not being able to do Youtube stuff the past couple of weeks.
