Description
The year is 2044. Earth has gone to ruins due to ideological and political turmoil, Mars is now the only viable alternative for humanity, which needs to start anew.

You have been hired for your exceptional city-planning skills to prepare planet Mars for colonies to come. Your mission is to create a sustainable utopia. Your budget is set at 1 mil., use it wisely.

You will start at the Daedalia planum, which has been found out to be most optimal for supporting life. The grounds have been in parts made fertaile, food production will be your primary priority. The breathing air, water, and sewage problem has been taken care of for you, scientists have developed ways to extract vital elements from Mars' carbon dioxide, argon, and nitrogen.

The rocket landing site is far away — all the way on the other side of the planet.
The only way goods and colonists can travel to and from Daedalia planum is by train.

YOUR MISSION
Create an utopic megalopolis colony on Mars.

YOUR TASKS
  1. Get food produciton working.
  2. Build dormitories for workers.
  3. Start making a profit.
  4. Make use of the ore pockets.
  5. Expand and beautify the colony.
  6. Switch to a sustainable power source.
  7. Launch education and diversify jobs.
  8. Build all neccessary buildings for the new government.
  9. Build the space elevator for ease of travel for the rest of humanity.

NOTE
This will not be easy, the position calls for an experienced and talented planner.

LUT
There is a color LUT for Mars by XAVE available, but it is very toxic and only for the brave. ;)

ABOUT
This is a savegame mission, something I've been fooling around with, mostly for fun, and to see how far Cities: Skylines can go without any modding. First savegame mission can be found here.
The map has been created by using an actual heightmap of Mars, not in 1:1 scale though. The reworked heightmap can be downloaded here[www.cimexchange.com].
You will need to use your imagination in order to fully enjoy this.
There are certain limitations and potential problems as well, feedback is welcome.

This is a tip for many people who've been saying that they dont see C:S mods on their game and. If you have the Epic Games version of Cities: Skylines, your mods are kept in a database, and to put it in your game, you must go to the downloader website, than check your folders, and extract it to "Epic Games City: Skylines Modding Folder" or "Cities: Skylines...". So yeah, Take note of that and THEN play the game.

Any plans doe a Domes Mod where you build everything under a dome like in The Expanse(Show/books) or Surviving Mars (Game) and instead of managing traffick, shuttles come and go to build population based on your build, or possibly there's a massive dome in the distance already and you just need to connect a transport road to it?

Paramiko, I think there's a folder icon on the thumbnail before you upload anything to the workshop. Clicking on that folder icon will allow you to find and modify the thumbnail.

How to use your own picture as the savegame icon (I mean the picture on the right of this website)?

It would be soo interesting having this as a second map during a game. Like, when you get enough upgrades you can travel to space from earth and transport goods and people from and back to the colony. Once you get the colony and upgrade enough things there, you get access to special tech and new buildings on earth. It's a must in this matter to be able to switch between the earth maps and the colony like if it were areas, in the same game.

Use the all 81 tiles unlock mod to make highway connections for in and outside, and you will have people coming in.
