Hand and Foot

Description
Hand and Foot is a North American game related to Canasta, in which each player is dealt two sets of cards - the hand, which is played first, and the foot, which is played when the hand has been used up. There are numerous variations of this game and no standard rules. The most usual version is for four players in partnership, and this will be described first; these rules were contributed by Bill Whitnack. A number of variations are then given - I would like to thank Barbara Bain, Dave Petrie, Brian Brouillette and Steve Simpson for providing information about these.

Although most people say that Hand and Foot is best played by four people in partnerships, it can also be played by six in two teams of three, or by any number of people playing as individuals.

I've never heard of playing this game with teams. The version I play is usually 3-8 players, solo, and well, fairly different rules on "melds." I'd go into it here, but it's a long post to recount the rules. Unless of course someone is interested in an "everyone for themselves" version.

Not too different from the version I play. And I can play Canasta too which is great. Thanks.

I do hate the fact that I can't seem to use the large rectangular table without having 8 player grids. I wish I could limit that to 2 to 4 players allowing us plenty of space. I assume if I customized my own table, that would fix the issue. But I'm still extremely new to all this and have no idea what I'm doing.

I posted in the forums suggesting they add an auto score counting system area for these kinds of games... cuz as we know, counting the score from 2+ decks of cards could take forever with this kind of control system.
