H6K4 Flying Boat

Description
Kawanishi H6K Flying boat as used by the Imperial Japanese Navy from 1938, in the Sino-Japanese War. They were in widespread use by the time the Pacific War began in 1942 and served as bombers and transports throughout WWII.

Armament:
1x 7.7mm nose gun (same power as tail gun due to size restrictions)
1x 20mm Type 99 cannon tail gun
16x 50kg bombs
2x Torpedo
4x short range Air defence rockets (additional armament)

Ive tried to keep the armament realistic - H6K4's historically had additional waist gunners, and would carry bombs OR torpedos, not both. The air defence rockets have been added as my Early Era fleet is struggling to deal with aircraft due to the poor AAA performance of cannons in the game at the moment (IJN hadnt invented laser cannons or heat seeking missiles by 1930!)

Performance:
This vehicle was designed as a highly mobile command ship and heavy bomber for use in the early period of the campaign game. Metal and scrap usage is higher than I would like but essential to keep it light and fast enough.

The plane can take off from the water without using balloons and can be "sailed" around at minimum engine power in order to move it into resource points

The plane is set up with AI but is also docile enough to easily fly manually. Resource gathering and processing equipment is carried to allow early exploitation of resource points after a battle.

In combat it will cruise at 30m/s and at around 250 meters, launch torpedos, then dive in for bombing runs at about 100 m atlitude before disengaging to regain height.

Note:
The props are currently set to counter rotate, thus cancelling out their thrust as the AI cant cope with the additional force provided. The props will stop at sea level to prevent unwanted movement, and will restart as soon as the plane is airborn.

Rising Sun Pack:
This is the sixth vehicle to be added to a collection of Japanese historical models for use in the main campaign. The vehicles in the series will increase in material cost and capability along a time line spanning from the 1920s upto modern day allowing them to be used throughout the campaign as resources become available. I intend to have a complete set of early, mid and late game vehicles supported by a carrier, including light and heavy bombers, fighters, destroyers, patrol boats and other support craft.

This model is currently being updated with the new Heli blades and a new version will be released shortly after the new cannon mechanics are released.

I love all of these IJN stuff! Keep doing them! Ps. I love making huge squadrons of the B2m1 Torpedo Bombers and just watching them either fail or succeed!
