Future Earth

Omschrijving
A map of futuristic earth as described by Gordon-Michael Scallion after a catastrophic pole shift. Most of the old continents are partially submerged, while new landmasses have emerged in the Atlantic and Pacific ocean. The pole shift creates new poles west of South America and east of North America.

The map is compatible with Vanilla Civ V.

The map size is huge with randomly distributed resources. Ancient ruins placed by hand. Natural wonders are in their real-world location (as long as that location still exists).

If the map does not show up in-game, you might have to copy the map itself from your Mods folder (in Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS\Future Earth) to your maps folder (Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\Maps)

Though highly unlikely to happen it still seems like a fun map. Will try.

This map has some crazy choke points and terrain hazards. Marines and Paratroopers go from meh to must have. o.o

Do you mean that this is a world where Gordon Ramsay destroyed it with his idiot sandwich?

@Dances In Rain: I didn't remove any comments as far as I'm aware. Unless I did so by accident... I'm sorry if I did though.

@author I'm fine with your map etc, why did you remove my comment?

You've got it right ulkomaalainen. It's based on visions that Gordon-Michael Scallion supposedly received from god. There's no scientific basis to it, I just liked the idea.

To everybody complaining about the map: I think the author of this mod is just referencing some idea by a "psychic" how the world after a "pole shift" would look like. So arguing the setup is fruitless.

I use quotation marks up there because you are right in that is the least convincing future earth layout I've seen. Pole shift doesn't work like that. Tectonics doesn't work like that. Mountain ranges don't just pop up on new continents. If continents form in places where there's deep ocean today (Atlantic - that is not the Mid-Atlantic-Ridge there -, Pacific) the geological changes would have to be so catastrophic that literally any random scribbling of continents holds more credibility than one still based on today's. (Actually not entirely true, it holds the same)

All that being said, this is about the map for gameplay.
