Sorry but GC would only looked this washed if you forget to put on your glasses. Yes HD is sharper but that doesn't mean GC looks like shit. Jesus Christ... Fact is it looks great, almost realistic and if HD remasters are really are an upgrade is still in dispute. For example take Final Fantasy X. Do I really want to see every polygon of Tidus face or wouldn't it be better to live with a less sharper image where the rest is left for the imagination? Like it is with the PS2 original?

In the film and audio world a remaster is literally taking the original masters of the media and cleaning it up in post processing. Windwaker HD would be an example of a remaster. It's the original models from the old gamecube game upscaled to HD. REMake on gamecube was a total remake. All assets were created from scratch. The fact that most of the game mirrors the layout of the original is irrelevant. The PC version is in turn a remaster of REMake :) Hope that clarifies things.

It's not a remake though. It's a remaster. A remake is a game made completely from scratch. A remaster is just updating the graphics and controls to make it up to date with today's technology which is what capcom did here. RE2 2019 and RE3 2020 are remakes for example, whereas this and RE0 are remasters only.
