There is a scripted version released by a friend of mine who was inspired to make it once I published this. It has scripted tile shuffling, building and score keeping to make setup much easier. You can find it here:

If you would like to use my table, unfortunately there is no easier way to set up the walls. It does go by quicker though if you have 3 other players to help you, much like a traditional set, everybody works on building their own wall to speed up the process.

is there a better way to build the tile walls?

Yeah I set the angle to 90 degrees and the grid is right by default if I'm not mistaken. I've yet to try this properly with someone since I don't know many people who'd play mahjong.

@Cheezburgr: Do you mean flipping a tile face up or rotating a tile after removing it from the bag? From a fresh restart, all tiles in the center bag should be face down. Pressing F while holding/selecting a tile(s) will flip them face up or face down. If you add a tile to your hand while face down and then flip it face up whilst in your hand, no other players should be able to see the tile. In the case of rotating, I highly reccomend setting your turn angle to 90 degrees. Check the rules section I provided for information about the grid size and how to best manipulate the tiles.

flipping the tiles is somewhat hard, I can't find a way to flip them without them showing to the other players as they are pulled out of the bag in a random orientation

@DoomOfGods It's an excellent game, If you know the basics of other Meld based card games like Gin Rummy, Mahjong isn't too hard to pick up (learning the Yaku is the hardest part). Hopefully the included rules suffice ^^

@Dio That still doesn't answer my question smart@$$...
