This guide will help you find all Magic Jam, Heart Holders, and Story-Specific items in Risky's Revenge!

Shantae's House

The beginning of our Half-Genie Hero's journey.

Contains:

- 1 Heart Holder




Holder Location:

This requires the Mermaid Dance.

Dive under the pool of water just to the left of Shantae's house. Dive about half way down and you will see a tunnel going through the wall on the right. Go through the tunnel to reach the cave with a chest containing the Heart Holder.

Scuttle Town

This place is the main hub and contains no specific items, but for reference, we'll point out that there's:

- Sky
- Uncle Mimic and Bolo
- The Item Shop
- Save Guy

Polyp Bay (Seaside Retreat)

Polyp Bay (AKA Seaside Retreat) is behind Shantae's house, where her journey started. It's blocked off by a high wall in the beginning.

Contains:

- Mayor Scuttlebutt
- 2 Magic Jams
- 1 Baby Squid (Story Item)

Note: You need the Monkey Dance to reach this place


The Mayor:

Mayor Scuttlebutt is the Mayor of Scuttle Town. He's required to talk to after clearing Squid Baron's Lair.

He's at the very end of Polyp Bay.



Jam #1:

Head to the very end of Polyp Bay, the Mayor's resting area should be there. A little to the left is the jam.















Jam #2:

This requires you to have the Monkey Dash upgrade (Go to Baron Desert for location).

There will be a rock cave about halfway through. Solve the puzzle using the Monkey Dash to earn the jam.















Baby Squid:

Warp to the Seaside Retreat and go right one screen. Dive into the water, then go left and dive right to the bottom. At the bottom, go right and you will see a tunnel going up. Enter the tunnel and you will enter a cave with the Baby Warp Squid.

Mermaid Cliffs

Mermaid Cliffs is to the right of the seaside port area of Scuttle Town. It's blocked off by a Rock Monster in the beginning.

Contains:

- Abder and Poe
- Hypno Baron's Lair (Magic Seal #3)
- 2 Baby Squids (Story Item)

Note: You need the Elephant Dance to reach this place.




Abder and Poe:

This requires the Monkey Dash Upgrade (Go to Baron Desert for location)

Abder and Poe are Rottytop's brothers, and they talk to Shantae after she recieves the Elephant Dance. They request that Shantae makes coffee for them in order to reach Hypno Baron's Lair.

They're located at the very end of Mermaid Cliffs in a small house. However, you need their coffee to go advance, because they'll give Shantae a Plastic Explosive to reach the Hypno Baron's lair. Be sure you found both the Coffee Beans and Coffee Machine in Tangle Forest, and took them to Sky in Scuttle Town so that she made the coffee for you.





Hypno Baron's Lair:

Note: You need the Storm Puff to help with entering this place.

The final magic seal is hidden inside the place of the Hypno Baron.

It's located about halfway through Mermaid Cliffs. You need a Plastic Explosive to get in the place, which you get from Adber and Poe after you get their coffee. You'll also need the Storm Puff Magic Skill to set off the C4.












Baby Squid #1

Note: This requires the Elephant Stomp.

On the first screen (Coming from Scuttle Town), dive under the water and head left, then go down and navigate through the rock wall. At the bottom of the screen, head left to find a cave entrance. Climb up the wall with the Monkey Dance, then use the Elephant Stomp to break the blocks and you will find the baby squid.











Baby Squid #2

Go to the rightmost screen (Where Abder and Poe's house is) and dive underwater. Head right, then go down to the bottom of the screen and go left to find the cave entrance. Navigate through the cave using the Mermaid Dance to find the baby squid.

Pumpkin Fields

Pumpkin Fields is to the left of Scuttle Town's enterance.

Contains:

- 1 Magic Jam


Jam Location:

Crossing the path in the fields, you'll find a rock cave. Inside should be a free jam. No effort whatsoever.

Lilac Fields

Lilac Fields is to the right of Scuttle Town's enterance.

Contains:

- 1 Heart Holder
- 1 Magic Jam




Heart Holder Location:

This requires you to have the Monkey Dance (Clear Squid Barron's Lair).

It should be on top of a stone pillar you couldn't normally jump up to. Transform and jump up to claim the Holder.















Jam Location:

This requires the Elephant Stomp upgrade (Go to Baron Desert for location).

Once you pass the Warp Squid in the fields, you should see a rock cave. Go in, and use the Elephant Stomp to break the blocks, and the jam is yours.

Baron Desert

Baron Desert is found after crossing Pumpkin Fields.

Contains:

- Ammo Baron
- The Battle Tower (Magic Seal #2)
- 2 Dance Upgrades (Monkey Dash and Elephant Stomp)
- 4 Magic Jams



Ammo Baron:

Ammo Baron is one of the Barons that holds one of the Seals. You gotta talk to him after talking to the Mayor about giving the Scuttle Town deed to him.



Monkey Dash Upgrade:

This requires the Elephant Dance and the Fireball item.

Warp to Baron Desert and head right. You will see a rock that can be smashed with the Elephant Dance to reveal a cave entrance. Burn down the roots using the Fireball and climb up the wall using the Monkey Dance to reach the upgrade.











Elephant Stomp Upgrade:

This requires the Elephant Dance.

Enter the cave to the right of Battle Tower. Head up and you will see a rock that can be broken with the elephant dance to reveal another cave entrance. Jump across the platforms to reach the top of the room and you will find the Elephant Stomp.












Jam #1:

After discovering Ammo Barron's tent with his men, the jam is to the very left of his tent.














Jam #2:

Clearing the Battle Tower the first time around will get Shantae the magic seal that she needs. However, if you play the Tower again and be quick about it, you'll win a Jam when you finish the second time.












Jam #3:

This requires the Monkey Dash Upgrade.

Coming into Baron Desert from Pumpkin Fields, continuously go right, and don't enter any rock caves. Instead, use the Dash to cross the large gaps Shantae couldn't normally get across. At the very end should be one more gap, where a lone Jam is sitting there.











Jam #4:

This requires the Elephant Dance.

After entering Baron Desert from Pumpkin Fields, break open the first cave entrance with the elephant. Inside you will find 3 flip platforms. These can be flipped using the Spitfire item, though other magic items may work. After clearing the platforms, you will find a chest containing the Jam.

Tangle Forest

Tangle Forest is found after crossing Lilac Fields.

Contains:

- Rottytops
- Chef Girl
- Squid Baron's Lair (Magic Seal #1)
- The Elephant Dance
- Coffee Beans and Coffee Machine (Story Items)
- 4 Magic Jams
- 1 Heart Holder




Rottytops:

Rotty is Shantae's zombie friend who lives in Tangle Forest with her brothers. She's required to talk to after getting through Risky's attack and starting the adventure. After that, she provides hints.

She's in the first layer of the forest on the far right.














Chef Girl:

The Chef Girl is a cook who dreams of becoming a famous chef one day with her dog, Wobble Bell. You need the puppy that Rottytops will give you before she'll make you a Tasty Meal

She's past the Squid Baron's Lair, and at the very last layer of the next area. Should be a little house.















Squid Baron's Lair:

The first boss of the game, Squid Baron contains the first Magic Seal and the Monkey Dance inside. You need a Tasty Meal from the Chef Girl in order to let Shantae in his Lair.

He's in the very last layer of the forest to the far right, into the next area.















Elephant Dance:

This requires you to have the Forest Key Barracuda Joe gave you after beating the Battle Tower for the first time.

It's on the first layer of the forest on the left side within a rock cave. You should see it eventually coming in from Lilac Fields. Clear the dungeon, and you should get the dance.
















Coffee Beans:

This requires the Elephant Dance.

Past Squid Baron's Lair into the next area, there should be a purple rock you can break with the Elephant Dance by dashing into it, revealing a rock cave. Clear that area, and the beans are at the end.



















Coffee Machine:

This requires the Elephant Dance.

The Machine is at the last layer of the forest to the very left. There should be a rock monster you can get rid of with the Elephant Dash. Going into the next area should look similar to Pumpkin Fields. Go to the very left of the swarm of enemies, and the machine is there.














Jam #1:

This requires the Monkey Dance.

In the third layer of the forest on the left side, there will be a large tree branch. Transform and climb the tree to the other side, and there will be a Jam.

Squid Baron's Lair

See Tangle Forest for location.

Contains:

- 3 Magic Jams
- The Monkey Dance

Jam #1:

This requires the Monkey Dance.

In the main area of the dungeon (The room after giving Squid Baron the Tasty Meal), There should be a chest in a seemingly impassable square. On the left side however, if you have the Monkey Dance, you can pass through the left side and open the chest that contains the Jam














Jam #2:

This requires the Mermaid Dance.

In one of the rooms, there's a pool of water underneath. Transform, and swim through to find another Jam.














Jam #3:

This requires the Monkey Dance.

Once you have obtained the Monkey Dance, return to the main area of the dungeon and enter the door at the top right of the room. Go through to the next room and you will see a small opening in the ceiling that can be entered using the Monkey Dance. Climb up here to find the chest containing the Jam.

Hypno Baron's Lair

See Mermaid Cliffs for location.

Contains:

- 2 Magic Jams
- The Mermaid Dance


Jam #1:

In the room with the door and 2 eyes, hit the eyes so that the left eye looks up and the right eye looks down. Go through the door and you will be in an upside-down room with spider enemies and a chest. Open the chest to get the Magic Jam.











Jam #2:

This requires the Mermaid Bubble upgrade.

In the room where you obtained the Mermaid Dance, swim through the underwater tunnel. Near the surface, there will be a small room blocked by a statue. Blast the statue away with the Mermaid Bubble to get to the chest containing the Magic Jam.
