APPENDIX
THIS MAP GUIDE IS NOW CONSIDERED DONE!
- Unless some critical flaws are reported - Or should we all have the privilege of getting spoiled once more by Creative Assembly - I would, of course - be unable to resist the temptation of making yet another map!

Tech stuff:
GIMP - The GNU Image Manipulation Program - was used for all image handling.
Campaign, Crew Expendable and Last Survivor -maps, was made from pure screen dumps, maticously puzzled together, and cleansed of any unnecessary interference.
Salvage- and Survivor -mode maps, was all drawn from scratch by hand, on top of a blank background screen dump. The same goes for all the map legends, icons etc.

Hope you find them useful, and thanks for all the positive feedback.

Great guide...
Some maps I notice missing loot... i.e Corperate Lockdown: Loose Ends

There are some loot areas not on the map. After coming out of the Transmission room and going (west I guess..) there is a random loot at bottom of those small steps beside the cart. Going up you run into another cart which is left of the loot box by the blocked hall.

Okay to the left of that cart (which was marked) there is another cart with loot (not marked).


Also, in the hallway just ahead of that.. another loot on the crates going to the lockdown area.

Past the lockdown intersection you got one loot area marked but right across from it is a "cooler" looking box with loot. :D

I wish the maps had the name of the person next to it's ID Tag, because right now the maps just tells you that there is a tag, but now which one.

Same for personal and nostromo logs.

Hey @Spectre - It should be possible, to rid them of all legends etc. Maybe if I can find the time, I'll add them to this guide?! - Glad you find the them useful. Cheers...

One question, though: Do you happen to have versions without icons? That is, just the layout of the rooms but no marked salvage, vents, security access etc?

Thank you so much for this! AI is one of my favorite surival horror games of all time, but I never played the challenge maps. For some reason the use of the map to plan my next move, devise a strategy and just take a breath became a huge thing for me in my campaign runs. I could never get into the challenge levels without a map - it felt like playing without a limb.

But now I can enjoy all the survivor levels with your beautiful maps. Great work!

Ah, I see! So those maps were 100% drawn by you? That is very impressive. Does that include the icons?

Hi @Dantius - No prob! For Survivor/Salvage maps: I experimented with nuances and transparency amount, to hit the right colors for walls, floors etc. I also reused existing parts of the maps for identical rooms - either copied or redrawn! And then pieced it all together on top of a screendump from Nightmare difficulty, which only containes the background mesh. GIMP has full support for layers, which makes positioning a lot easier! Ask away if there is something specific you wan't to know!? - I'll gladly try to answer if possible...

Many thanks for the response! Sorry if I am pestering a bit, but what did you use to create those maps? Did you extract any files from the game to piece together, or did you rely on screenshots?
