Mercury Update 2.5

Mercury's all new update 2.5! This version includes a completely new targeting system, as well as many other features!

Mercury 2.5 now includes protection for family sharing

If a banned player joins on a family shared account, they will remain banned!

Setup goto locations with Mercury

There are now goto location commands!

!locadd -- add a goto location where you're aiming
!locdel -- delete the location name

!loclist -- list locations
!lgo -- goto a location


Have some privacy

There is now a privacy mode you can access by typing !privacy

This will prevent any goto's by anybody lower or equal rank to you.

An all new menu

Commands are now grouped into categories in the menu!

All new building commands

!freezeall -- Freezes all of your props
!freezeallof -- Freeze all of <target's> props
!freezemap -- I wonder what this does.


A new fast-access radial menu

Bind a key to +m3rad to access the radial menu for commands!

The targeting / command system now allows you to use the following flags!

* - Target all
^ - Target me
& - Also target
! - Don't target

So for example, if we have 5 players

Bill, Joe, Frank, Bob, and John

I can target all five players by going

!slay *

I can target all players except one by using

!slay *&!John

I can target all players but myself by using

!slay *&!^

To target two players

!slay bill&joe

Note, that this isn't enabled for all commands.



The console prefix is "hg", the chemical symbol for Mercury. (or you can use hgs for silent commands)
So for example to kick somebody
" hg kick john "propspam" "

In chat there are multiple expressions you can use to run a command.

! - Shows all text associated with the message. Example
FreezeBug has goldified FreezeBug.
*DEAD* FreezeBug: !gold freeze

/ - Shows only the command result Example

FreezeBug has ungoldified FreezeBug.

@ - Silent command, shows nothing to all players, but is still logged in console.





First, Install mercury via the workshop by adding it to your server's workshop collection, or by subscribing to it if you're running a listen server.

Next, start your server, and join it, wait to spawn in.

Once you've spawned in the server, execute in the server's console "hg setrank "your name" owner". This will set you to the owner rank, which will have the color of white and the order of one.

Now, type !menu in chat

You can now go into the ranks tab to create and configure new ranks, The menu should be rather self-explanitory, but here's some descriptions of what each of the items on there do.

From here, you can use chat commands, like !setrank.


Index - The internal name for a rank, this is how you set groups and perform tasks on the rank. This is what you use when you use !setrank
Title - If you have the scoreboard enabled, then this will set the title for that rank's teams.
Order - If you have the scoreboard enabled, this will define the order the rank appears relative to other ranks.
Current Commands - The commands this rank has, note that if a rank has the @allcmds@ privlage, then it has all privileges, regardless of what is in its rank.
Available Commands - The commands this rank does not have.
To add / remove privileges, click a privilage from one of the boxes followed by one of the switch arrows in the middle.
Color - If you have the scoreboard enabled, this will be the color of that rank's team.
New Rank - Creates a new rank, you can only have one new rank at a time.


You need to go into the "configuration" tab in the menu, under "Ranks and Teams", uncheck the "Use Teams" checkbox, and click yes to restart.
