Introduction
In this guide I hope to expand upon your knowledge of Kerbal Space Program, the facts that I include are ones that I find interesting. Some of them I have discovered myself, whereas others I was made aware of through the internet and other sources. If you would like to suggest a change or a new fact then please do in the comments below! I will try to make this guide as concise as I can whilst still providing appropriate amounts of information, so let us embark upon are journey of discovery!
I PLAN TO ADD TO THIS ONCE I FIND MORE FACTS! ;)
The Kerbal Space Centre
Easter Eggs
I could make a whole guide about easter eggs in KSP but since that would spoil a lot of the fun I will just mention these two as they are relevant to the KSC. There are two easter eggs that can be found around the space centre, one the Mk1 Command Pod Memorial, the other is a Monolith which is actually one of five that can be found on Kerbin.

1. Mk1 Command Pod Memorial
This memorial is for the Mk1 Command Pod, it looks different to the current Mk1 Command Pod as the texture was changed for it in .16, the memorial is for the old texture and can be found outside the level 3 VAB opposite the launchpad.

2. Monolith
Not much to say about this really but though that I would include it. This is a black monolith depicting the Squad logo on the opposite side of the runway to the KSC. You may have to fly over there a bit for it to come into load range.

3. Island Runway
On the island not too far away from the KSC there is a ruined runway, control tower and hangers, in one of these hangers there is an abandoned command pod.

Biomes
There are 32 biomes in the Kerbal Space Centre, so it is possible to get large quantities of science without actually leaving the centre. I managed to put the biomes in this fancy table:

SPH
R&D
VAB
Tracking Station
Others
Runway
Small lab
Round tank
North dish
Mission Control
Water tower
Central building
Tanks
South dish
Administration
Tanks
Side lab
Main building
East dish
Flag pole
Round tank
Tanks
Crawlerway
Centre building
Astronaut complex
Main building
Observatory
Launchpad
Tracking station
Command Pod memorial
SPH
Wind tunnel
VAB
Monolith
Corner lab
Main building
R&D

N.B some biomes may only appear in level 3 buildings.

Flag Pole
It is possible to climb the flag pole outside the level 3 astronaut complex like a ladder.
EVA Tips
Space Jump
Whilst on any ladder is you hold shift + W/A/S/D and then press space you will jump off in the corresponding direction to the key you pressed. It is much more easy to see the effects when in space than on the surface of a body although it does still work. This is a useful trick for getting around a space station or for coserving monopropellant.

Rotation!
Have you ever not been able to return to your ship as it is at the wrong angle? Has your Kerbal gone flying off into space because of this? Well don't worry because with this trick you will never have this problem again! But seriously it suprises me how many people do not know how to do this as it is really useful!

When on an EVA in space just click and drag and your Kerbal will change his orientation. I would recommend doing this once you are heading towards your target as in some camera modes the movement controls do not change for the orientation.
Parts!
IVA
The Mk1 Inline Cockpit used to be the only manned command pod to not have a useable IVA cockpit. When IVA is activated all you would see is the grey interior of the part. This was given an IVA in the 1.0 update as well as some remodeling.

Physics-less Parts
Back in the good old days some parts were physics-less, in order to make the game run more smothly. Since 1.0 (I need verification), these parts still have no physics, but now their mass is added to the part they are attached to, the parts are as follows:
  • 2HOT Thermometer
  • BZ-52 Radial Attachment Point
  • Communotron 16
  • Communotron 88-88
  • Cubic Octagonal Strut
  • Double-C Seismic Accelerometer
  • FL-A5 Adapter
  • GRAVMAX Negative Gravioli Detector
  • Illuminator Mk1 (spot)
  • Illuminator Mk2 (wide)
  • O-10 MonoPropellant Engine
  • Octagonal Strut
  • OX-STAT Photovoltaic Panels
  • Pegasus I Mobility Enhancer
  • Place-Anywhere 7 Linear RCS Port
  • PresMat Barometer
  • RV-105 RCS Thruster Block
  • Small Hardpoint
  • Telus-LV Bay Mobility Enhancer
  • Telus Mobility Enhancer
  • TR-38-D (Size 3 decoupler)
  • Vernor Engine
  • Z-100 Rechargeable Battery Pack
  • Z-400 Rechargeable Battery
  • Small Gear Bay
  • EAS-4 Strut Connector
  • FTX-2 External Fuel Duct

As you can see most of these parts are fairly small and therefore would not effect your aerodynamics/mass very greatly at all. Also note that none of these are root parts so they cannot be the first part of your vessel.

Kerbals
WARNING WORK IN PROGRESS!

Language
Sometimes you may hear a Kerbal speak, whether it is in a Youtube movie or through other means, the language that they speak is Spanish but backwards! This fact is completely irrelevant but good to know!

There is a mod which will allow you to hear the Kerbals speaking during flight, it is called Chatterer, the Kerbals will begin to speak soon after launch. I personally have not tried the mod but here is a download link:

Chatterer actually adds quite a bit of immertion! It also adds souds to probes (that shrik of old dial up modens and some beeps and boops). Very recommended.
