The Goons operate as a coordinated unit where each member has a specific combat role. Knight leads the assault with heavy armor that soaks up rounds, Big Pipe follows close behind with his grenade launcher ready to flush you out of cover, and Birdeye positions himself at distance to pick you off if you stay exposed. Understanding how they work together is what separates successful runs from getting wiped in seconds.

Your loadout matters more against the Goons than most other bosses. You need something that hits hard enough to punch through Knight's armor while maintaining fire rate for when Big Pipe pushes. An SA-58, MDR in 7.62, or HK417 loaded with M80 rounds gives you the perfect balance. M62 works even better if you've got the cash. Forget bolt-actions unless you can guarantee headshots under pressure, and shotguns or SMGs won't cut through their gear fast enough before they close the distance.

The key to winning this fight is controlling the engagement space. When you spot them or hear their voice lines, immediately move toward the nearest building with rooms and doors. The medical building on Customs works perfectly for this. Get inside, pick a room like the dining area on the first floor, and wait behind the closed door. Knight barges through first, and that brief moment when he's opening the door gives you free shots. Big Pipe follows maybe five seconds later, so stay sharp and don't get caught reloading. After both pushers are down, Birdeye becomes the problem. Sometimes he'll rush in to avenge his squad. Other times he camps his position and you'll need to use grenades to force him to relocate or reveal his spot.

Birdeye's footsteps are almost completely silent, which makes him dangerous if you need to push out and find him. If he's not coming to you after a minute or two, start throwing grenades in his general direction. He'll either call out and reposition, or you'll get lucky and catch him in the blast. Getting close to him actually makes the fight easier since his sniper setup isn't built for CQB. Just remember that all three of them have massive health pools compared to regular scavs, so don't expect one-taps to the chest. Aim for the head when possible, but sustained fire to center mass works fine with proper ammo. Once you drop all three in the same raid, the achievement pops and you're done.
