TLDR
  • I Hear the Voice of Darkness unlocks when you eliminate Knight 15 times while playing as a PMC, across any number of raids, and the achievement stays on your profile through wipes.
  • Farm Knight where you are most comfortable fighting The Goons trio: Customs Scav base, Woods antenna, Shoreline weather station, or Lighthouse water treatment / blue chalet, and build a kit that survives SCAR-H and GL spam.
  • The achievement Now There Are Three of Them! is separate, but you can grab it on one of your Knight hunts by killing Knight, Birdeye, and Big Pipe in a single raid while you are PMC anyway.
How to Get the I Hear the Voice of Darkness Achievement on Escape From Tarkov

So first, what are you actually working toward. I Hear the Voice of Darkness is a late game achievement that wants you to kill the Rogue boss Knight fifteen times as a PMC. There is no extra loot tied directly to it, but it sits on your achievement list, bumps your overall score on trackers, and, like other achievements, it survives wipes so it turns into a permanent flex on your profile.

You are not doing this completely separate from the rest of your account. Those Knight kills line up with quests like Stray Dogs and with other “kill bosses repeatedly” goals, so the grind usually happens naturally while you clear tasks. If you enjoy long term progression, it also fits well with a developed Hideout and a Hall of Fame full of dogtags and rare trophies where you can stash the nicer loot you pull off Knight and his friends.

Knight himself is the commander of The Goons, rotating between Customs, Woods, Shoreline, and Lighthouse. When the trio spawns on one of those maps, they disappear from the others for that rotation, so you usually lock in one or two favorite Knight maps and stick to them. Customs around the Scav base and Shoreline around weather station are the most common Knight farms, with Woods and Lighthouse being better if you are comfortable with longer sightlines and more punishing angles.

Your basic plan is to pick that comfort map, learn how Knight and The Goons move there, then force close fights where you can isolate them instead of taking random long range duels. On Customs and Lighthouse interiors you often kill Knight as he rushes a doorway, while on Shoreline and Woods you play around terrain and bait them into pushing off hills and strong positions. When you manage to kill Knight, Birdeye, and Big Pipe in the same raid as a PMC, you also unlock the separate Now There Are Three of Them! achievement, so you should treat any clean trio wipe as progress toward both goals.

Since fifteen Knight kills means a lot of raids, you want kits that can handle his gear. Class 5 armor, solid face protection, and high penetration ammo matter more than flashy builds. Use close range setups on your interior maps and a scoped rifle with a backup red dot on open maps, and always bring grenades to clear power positions instead of ego peeking. Between raids, lean on your Hideout for faster regen, extra meds, and crafted ammo so the grind feels sustainable. If you keep running those same routes, stay focused on survival and clean kills, the counter will climb and I Hear the Voice of Darkness will just become another part of your regular Tarkov story.
