Description
The Protectorate of England, Ireland and Scotland

This mod adds the Protectorate of England to the game, led by Oliver Cromwell

The Protectorate (sometimes known as the commonwealth) was a state that existed from 1649-1660 during one of England's most tumultious periods. From 1653-58 it was ruled by Oliver Cromwell, one of the greatest military minds of the age, and is considered by some historians as a hero for English liberty, and others a monster.

Mod details

Leader-Oliver Cromwell

Trait-"New Model Army"

"For every 4 faith per turn, gain a 1% increase in military production. For every 3 social policies adopted, gain 2 faith. Barracks, Armouries and Military Academies yield faith"

Barracks-1 faith

Armoury-1 faith

Military Academies-2 faith

Unique unit-"Roundhead"

Slightly stronger than regular musketmen, roundheads are much cheaper to produce (25% reduction) and gain an increased bonus from great generals on the same tile as them.

Unique unit-"Ironside"

A lancer replacement, the Ironside has much higher combat strength (30 instead of 25) and generates great generals much faster with the generals II promotion. It even upgrades to cavalry instead of anti-tank guns!

Strategy

Obviously the Protectorate is a militaristic civilization, and thus a domination victory is the most suitable, however the relation between faith and military production means it's also worth investing resources into a powerful, military based religion to rapidly increase unit production and use beliefs such as "just war". The Protectorate also features two renaissance units that synergise with eachother. Use the powerful ironsides to create great generals which greatly increase the effectiveness of roundheads, who's low cost along with the trait makes them very easy to mass produce to create a sustained war effort. They keep their promotions meaning you can create a mighty late game army focused around great generals.

Supports-JFD's core cultural diversity, YNAEMP, RED modpack, unique cultural influence, piety and prestige, Civ IV leader traits and Sukitracts Events and decisions

alas this civ's special abilities simply aren't working at all for me :/
may need to try and delete lot of mods and see which one(s) is(are) causing a conflict, as otherwise this seems very interesting civ to try

I relly like this mod, but im playing on huge map with maraton setting and easy get more than 100 faith pr turn.

Is it possible to reduse the production to 1% pr 5 faith pr turn. 100 faith here is 20% boost.

Or add a subtraction for number of citys. Say I got 100 faith, 10 citysand 5 faith pr tun. So (100-10) / 5= 18% boost. Still great boost but a bit smaller thanthe original 33,33%.

Or perhaps this could result in a new civilization.

@COD_and_chips

I've studied Cromwell as part of my A-levels (University entry qualification). Of course, I am not claiming I'm the undisputed master of the interregnum, but at the same time, I know a bit more about the period than most people, I'll give it straight to you, Cromwell is indeed a divisive figure, but it's unfair to absolutely claim he was a monster (or suppose claim he was a martyr either, being a leader in a Civ V mod, I have indeed "glorified him" like any other ingame leader, so you should take what I say with a grain of salt.) I could elaborate if you want, provide my evidence etc.

'You stood as a symbol... of religious toleration'.
This guy killed Catholics on mass.
He was a genocidal monster and a religious zelot.
History has been much too kind.
Is this what they're teaching school goers in Britian these days?
