and also cultivated sophistication tradition straight lying "vassals more likely to hybridize with this culture" because THEY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ CAN'T pissed me off
so yeah, if anyone wants to use this idea or mod files to make better version of mod - feel free to do it. i can dump it to github it's small enough for you to fork it manually, without vcs
- Can not create during war
- Dukes and up only
- Requires a minimum of 5+ provinces under the ruler's control
- Minimum Diplomacy of Ruler at 20+
first one doesn't even limit player so ai can hybridize during war as well
others don't make much sense, any lowly count can be fascinated by his liege's culture if it's superior and he doesn't have to be a good diplomat to get it.
learning requirements could maybe help, because vassal has to be somewhat smart to properly mix two cultures into one, but looking at the way ai creates hybrids i can't call it "properly")
other than that - i think about adding modifiers based on vassal character, like stubborn vassals won't admit that their culture is inferior and cultural acceptance threshold for them would be higher
but if it comes to this it's better to make proper decision weight system but syntax for this sucks so hard i don't want to go there unless i really have to
i'm back, got a few updates
found a problem that caused certain degree of culturegore: if vassal had PARENT culture of liege's hybrid (usually it goes opposite way) it created ♥♥♥♥♥♥ hy-hybrid like 'perso-perso-mashriqi', i changed that behaviour to "if liege has culture that descended from mine - i adopt his hybrid as is"
about hybrids names: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3021686120 works just fine if used alongside this mod, i decided not to integrate it here so @Viegnar could have full credit for his idea
>Is it possible to control what traditions vassal will take?
How hard is to implement such feature?
that's far above my expertise, ai decision making logic on picked traditions is hidden somewhere in actual game code (not modable part of it) and it looks like it is straight up random
I was thinking that additional factors with cultural acceptance would be useful.
No more weak vassals on the verge of losing a war creating new cultures etc etc.

Combine features from all these mods to create a hybrid overhaul
wow, that's awesome solution, i didn't even think about using capital county name for hybrid name. seems slightly uncertain, but great solution overall, much better than manually defining all combinations of source cultures)
i'll test if this mod can be used alongside mine or i should integrate it here to avoid conflicts, thanks
> A vassal just hybridizing DOES happen in history, you are correct - but with mitigating factors.
i think cultural acceptance IS proper mitigating factor, and it is kinda supported by vanilla game. but cultural acceptance is too easy to gain sometimes, like events on grand tour may give 10-15-20% of acceptance per event regardless of relationship between rulers. that's kinda dumb, but i'm not sure about best way to fix it, adjusting all the numbers is NOT the way
