Quick Detailed Fix for 1080p, ugly text, missing menu text, missing battle info text, tiny interal window, and steam overlay
By BadWolfy
Here I cover how to get GeDoSaTo working with FF13 and fix the ugly text, the missing text from abilities etc, the missing notes from in-battle enemy info, and this also fixed the overlay and the tiny window for me.

Screenshots of the final product and proof this works.
This shows what's missing with the battle info bug. The notes section in the bottom half of the screen:

Here's an issue you may have if you don't set FFXIII launcher resolution to 1280x720.

Here's a screenshot of the missing menu text for reference:

Download GeDoSaTo
Here's the link to download Durante's excellent tool. Don't worry about the link being old as the installer downloads the newest version.

The "nitty gritty"
Once you have GeDoSaTo installed, (I highly recommend a reinstall if you've had this app install before.) Open it and click edit settings, at the bottom of the new window that pops up you'll see a dropdown menu, to the right of that a little search bar. Either use the drop down menu to locate config\ffxiiiimg\GeDoSaTo.ini or just type into the search bar ffxiii and it should come up. You'll then see this gibberitic nonsensical made up crap if you're in the right place:

# Lines starting with "#" are ignored by GeDoSaTo and used to provide documentation

# This is a profile file for ffxiiiimg

## Rendering Resolution
# can't select res in-game so write it here
clearRenderResolutions
renderResolution 1920x1080@60
#renderResolution 4480x2520@60

## Anti Aliasing
# MSAA sample count, default 4, other options: 2, 8
# higher = higher performance impact
MSAASampleCount 4
# Enable coverage sampling (CSAA on NV, EQAA on AMD) if HW supports it
# (improvement for small performance hit)
enableCoverageSampling false

## Shadow Resolution
# 1 = default
# sensible values: 2, 4, 8 (extreme)
# higher numbers = larger performance impact
shadowScale 1

## Required settings, don't change
injectPSHash 1329c9bf
maxScreenshotParallelism -1
forceRenderRes true

Now select the entire thing and delete it so you see a nice empty white text editor, you're going to replace it with this:

## Rendering Resolution
# can't select res in-game so write it here
clearRenderResolutions
renderResolution 1920x1080@60

## Anti Aliasing
# MSAA sample count, default 4, other options: 2, 8
# higher = higher performance impact
MSAASampleCount 4
# Enable coverage sampling (CSAA on NV, EQAA on AMD) if HW supports it
# (improvement for small performance hit)
enableCoverageSampling true

## Shadow Resolution
# 1 = default
# sensible values: 2, 4, 8 (extreme)
# higher numbers = larger performance impact
shadowScale 1

forceAnisoLevel 16

## Required settings, don't change
injectPSHash 1329c9bf
maxScreenshotParallelism -1
forceRenderRes true

Now once you have it pasted in there all pretty like. mmmm code. here's what you can and can't edit.

First off all. DO NOT touch the red text. it doesn't like to be touched. Also it will mess up the code.

renderResolution 1920x1080@60
this is the interal resolution GeDoSaTo will make the game run at. Yes, you can do 8k, if you've got the specs. you ♥♥♥♥.

you can change this to any 16:9 resolution however I highly recommend it being AT LEAST 1920x1080@60. also don't touch or remove the @60 part. I don't know what will happen if you change it. It may even cause your computer to catch fire. and that will hurt your framerate. bad.

MSAASampleCount 4
Like said in the config this can be either 2, 4, or 8. I recommend 4 because it's what works for me and i'm afraid to change it because software hates me.

shadowScale 1
Do what you want to do here. but only 1, 2, 4, or 8, don't pick 7 PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT PICK 7.

forceAnisoLevel 16
This fixed the ugly text. an example: ("With Filtering Override" is with this to 16)
http://abload.de/img/filtert6pl4.gif
DO NOT touch this. or this entire guide was pointless and I wasted my time. And I hate you.

Hit save on the bottom right of the window.
Don't close GeDoSaTo. Whenever you run the game it must be running for all these settings to work.

Now. on the the FF13 Launcher settings
Launcher settings. lol, "settings" that's funny.
Open the Launcher from steam. If your launcher opens and instead of going directly to the game skip the quoted text. If you're launcher doesn't open you either haven't patched the game or you have it set to not show again. or you have bad luck. and you should get an xbox. with like a really really long warranty.

The launcher is located here: (Steams default directory on a x64 Win7 OS)
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\FINAL FANTASY XIII
Open FFXiiiLauncher.exe
(You can even run it as admistrator if you wanna feel like you're in charge.)

Not using the launcher is what disables the steam overlay for me. So don't check "Do not show this window again" Unless you're a hipster. Nice beard. Loser.

Bolded settings are the ones you MUST have set to whats shown below.

Screen Settings:
Full-Screen Display Mode

Resolution:
1280x720
(this is what fixes the broken menu text and mission battle info text. Running in 1080p with GeDoSaTo breaks the menu text, running without it breaks the battle info notes. This is the entire reason why I made this. That and someone was mean to me. No really. Instead of helping me he was rude. People these days right?)

Sound Settings
I don't care?

Shadow Resolution
512x512
That is my setting due to inferior laptop hardware that still somehow managed to let me figure this out and write it down for you so you remember that before you talk trash about my 555m you little ♥♥♥♥. You can set this to whatever you like.

Anti-aliasing (MSAA)
x4
I haven't actually tried adjusting this honestly. It works and looks good so i'm okay with it how it is. If you do mess with it I suggest only going higher from there.

Now here comes the really long and frustrating part.
The complicated part.
I'm just kidding. I just don't like goodbyes. thank you for reading. I wanted to make this so people could enjoy the game without any tiny little annoyances that would drive their ocd up the wall like crazy. If you have any questions or issues just comment and let me know.

Worked for me, thanks.

@Juliano

As far as I'm aware it doesn't work anymore. As you can see, no one ever answered me. The only thing I could do was play it on windowed 1920x1080. You won't be able to see the enemies intel but as long as you discover those information (with libra is easier), your companions' AI will work as intended.

Guys, is gedosato dead? Was it abandoned?

Didn't work for me. Did everything as you said, but then when I try to open the game, nothing happens. The launcher opens normally, but the game never does. The .exe keeps running tho.

Using this worked for the most part exept it locked my FPS to 30. Change presentInterval to 0 in the main GeDoSaTo.ini to fix this. Had no issues since.

This guide didn't make any difference for me :(
I got the battle text in 1280x720 but not in 1920x1080.

I don't get the option for 1280x720, the closest I get is 1280x768. Good enought?
