Stuncaster returns! Now with enhanced abilities and features, rewarding the stuncaster with power that scales with their psychic sensitivity.

A mod that technically lets you stop time.

Reign supreme by psychically freezing the perceptions of all but yourself, unlocking opportunities in the midst of the chaos, as only you can move and act. Utilise the perception-based abilities bestowed upon you and wreak havoc in the battlefield.





Thanks to the Vanilla Expanded Framework, this overhaul is quite big in terms of balancing and introduces new features and gimmicks. I suggest that stuncasters should utilise their upgrade points to only upgrading their psychic sensitivity to unlock their full potential.

Full changelog

- Stuncaster path tree is now locked behind Archotech meditation focus. If the abilities were unlocked but the psycaster lacks the meditation focus, they cannot use the abilities until they gain they meditation focus.
- Reflavoured some texts and descriptions.
- Cleaned up some bloats/unused codes and files.
- Changed the World of Restrain fleck below pawn altitude layer, highlighting pawns during its duration.
- Stunstrike can now knockback targets.
- Pawns that were hit with knockback-inflicting attacks during Restrain will be knock backed after the effect has ended. The knockback distance stacks with each knockback attacks.
- Nerfed air thrust and air javelin damage.
- Air thrust is now a low damage attack, but can cast more projectiles depending on psychic sensitivity.
- Air javelin knock targets away and plays an impact visual effect, which will play after Restrain ends if casted during Restrain.
- Both air thrust and air javelin now produce air puffs trail when casted.
- Projectile Evasion after Restrain is recoded.
- Renamed Stunskip to Stunstep
- Added air puffs trail to Restrain-related abilities; Stunstep and Stunstrike.
- Added air puffs trail to the caster during Restrain that plays after Restrain ends.
- Restrain can end if the Stuncaster is downed. However, they can't die during the duration of the hediff "World of Restrain". All accumulated damage that causes death will kill the stuncaster 2 seconds after Restrain ends.
- During Restrain, stuncasters that didn't cast Restrain cannot shoot their weapons (psycasts not affected?), and can only melee hit once before being frozen in Restrain. Only the stuncaster that casted Restrain have full control.
- Duration of Greater Restrain is nerfed from 15 seconds to 10 seconds, but its duration can now scale with the stuncaster's psychic sensitivity.
- Cooldown of Greater Restrain is now scaled with the stuncaster's psychic sensitivity for balancing.
- Cancel Restrain / Cancel Elusion / Cancel Evasion each have new icons.
- Greater Restrain can now be unlocked after unlocking Restrain.

Disclaimer

This is mid-save compatible since it just adds another psycast tree. It will be compatible with other mods, as it will only add psycast. However, Combat Extended and other ticks-altering mods are not compatible.

Since this mod is quite experimental, there will be lag spikes. I'd suggest adding performance-enhancing mods such as Better GC: Mothballed and World Pawns or others.

With the new DLC and updated ticks mechanic, bugs will be present but I've cleared most that I could find. I may not do the same since I'm quite busy. But I will do when I have time. Try not to spam Restrain too much since it messes with game ticks and all. I did make this mod for fun when the project first started, and proud of it today :)

my rim Psychic Sensitivity 270%. and use greater restrain duration 12 sec
Psychic Sensitivit +170% make 2 sec. too short...

hey great mod, am really enjoying it! Just wanted to ask if it would be possible to force air thrust to stop shooting projectiles after its target is dead. I'm currently playing with a very powerful modded psycaster and she fires about a few irl minutes of air thrusts before stopping even after the target is dead. I've been able to continue playing by just not using air thrust but a fix would be nice. A great mod regardless, it's been a lot of fun. Thanks!

Is this also true during Greater Restrain? I don't know how willing you'd be to revert this, or if this was done for performance reasons, but it kinda hurts in multi-stuncaster colonies, I'll miss my Revia team absolutely tearing house as long as their psychic heat held out.

heyy great mod but i would like mod options to tweak the mod to make costum hard modes or easy modes. if you dont want that its okay. great mod anyway!
