--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This mod REQUIRES Dawnguard and Dragonborn.

Pure Weather is a full weather and lighting replacer. It adds a lot of new weather types for every regions, adding realism, immersion, and beauty to Skyrim with absolutely ZERO performance loss.

Darker nights Edition available on Steam: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=351905585

VARIOUS, REALISTIC, AND IMMERSIVE WEATHER:
Pure Weather adds dozens weathers and lighting variations for every areas in Skyrim, with various sunsets and sunrises, and various rainy and snowy weathers. It uses realistic lighting, colors, and textures to enhance your experience without taking off the lore Skyrims feeling.

REALISTIC AND VARIOUS NIGHTS:
Nights are trully immersive: rainy and foggy nights are dark, while summer night are a lot clearer. Auroras also add more light at night: now there is a strategic approach in going outside at night. You should better look at the weather before deciding to go in wilderness after 9PM...

EXCLUSIVE TEXTURES INCLUDED:
Along with clouds and rain textures, Pure Weather includes new sunglare, snow and rocks textures, fully optimized to work great with the new lighting provided by the mod. Welcome in a brand new world!

ZERO PERFORMANCE LOSS:
If you can run the vanilla game with the HD pack from Bethesda, then you can run Pure Weather without any FPS lost! The mod uses the game's engine for the new weathers and lightings, and does not require anything else. Just subscribe and play!

STRONGLY RECOMMENDED FOR PURE WATERS USERS:
It gives to Pure Waters (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=20709) better colors, and more realism: shores are better and the "white water" bug during rainy and foggy weathers is completely fixed.

NOTE ABOUT COMPATIBILITY:
Pure Weather is compatible with EVERYTHING, excepted of course mods which already modify Weathers and/or Imagespace. If you already use textures which modify clouds/ rain/ rocks/ mountains/ Sun, then it will conflict and you probably won't see my textures in game. I strongly recommend to remove/ uninstall your modded textures before installing Pure Weather. Textures concerned are the following:
- every cloud and sun textures in Textures/ sky directory,
- fxraindrop in textures/effects,
- every textures in textures/landscape/mountains,
- road01snow textures (2 files) in textures/landscape/roads,
- every snow01 and snow02 (4 files) textures in textures/landcape.

NOTE AND TIPS:
Pure Weather settings are based on an average brightess (cursor at the middle) in Skyrim ingame options. Be sure to check your own configuration and adjust this setting before playing. The result will also depend of your monitor settings, so keep in mind that you will maybe have to adjust your ingame and/or display brightess in order to have the best result. You should also set the contrast of your display.

Night darkness is very subtil in Pure Weather and there are tons of different displays with various settings in the Steam community so you HAVE TO take a few minutes to set the brightness of your game.

RECOMMENDED MODS:
- Enhanced Lights and FX (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/27043/?): interior and exterior lightsources overhaul.
- Lanterns of Skyrim (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=77247783): adds many lightsources in exteriors.
- Immersive NPC in the dark (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52239/?): a new mod which change NPC behavior in darkness. Perfect for milk drinker who quail at night.
- Dynamic timescale (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=13689): for more realistic weather transitions (I recommend a timescale value to 6).

Q&A:
Are night always dark?
- Night darkness depends on the weather: cloudy and rainy nights are really dark, don't expect to go outside without a torch. Starry and clear nights are clearer, but keep in mind that you will be able to see only around you without a lot of details (it is enough to see a predator or an enemy shape). Auroras add more visibility, giving the landscape a soft luminosity. Don't forget that you can tweak the brightness in the game's options to slightly adapt luminosity to your liking. You can also decrease the fgamma value in your skyrimpref.ini file (in my documents/my games/skyrim folder). I don't recommend to go under 0.8 though. Setting the contrast of your display may also help.

Could you make night more dark?
- Go there: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=351905585

It's snowing on Whiterun! Is it normal?
- Yes, there's a -very- little probability to see snowflakes in every regions in Skyrim. On mountains and nord regions, snow is of course a lot more visible.

Why including textures such like rocks and snow?
- The special lighting from Pure Weather sometimes gives some weird rendering to existing textures. For example, vanilla snow appears too bright during sunny days. The same for rocks textures which appear too clear. My own textures fix this (and are a lot more realistic...).

ABOUT SETTINGS:

First, calibrate your display, it's the more important (yes I know you think your display is perfect but please read). When I say "calibrate", I think about setting brightness, contrast and colors (just google your display name + setting, there are some serious site which suggests good settings for a lot of displays).

Then, adjust the ingame brightness to your liking (like I said in the description, PW was done with an average brightness setting): go out at a cloudy (not rainy or foggy and without aurora) night without lightsource and change brightness until you see the landscape around with a light blue tint (but not much). Of course, if you use the Brighter Night version, tint should be a lot more visible.

You can use a mod called Weather Control Command to easily find a cloudy weather without aurora.

Then, you are done.

"After calibration, I hit the "sweet spot". Interiors and exteriors at all times look perfect. Very happy, thanks again."

QUOTE
"TV or monitor calibration is super important for this mod. I just calibrated mine and it makes a world of difference.
Like many people here I was observing that the nights were way to dark to the point where I could not nee my own hands/sword.
After I calibrated my TV I could start seeing details on night time screenshots posted on this site where it looked like it was pretty much just black before.
"

QUOTE
"i tested it on a friend non-calibrated display (was not catastrophic) on a low to mid screen it doens't look bad but..
At home i use an Eizo coloredge calibrated with a spyder4 (Better than manual calibration) the result between non-calibrated and calibrated is just astonishing.

So yea. calibrate ur monitor.

Will this mod ever be ported over to SE, or is there already another mod for SE that does what this one does?
