No it just goes silent, sometimes you hear it fire other times the sound just won't play.

also, for some reason the firing sound only plays if i'm close to the thing i'm shooting at.

There's a strange bug when firing is silent, The first shot is heard, but the second shot is silent. And is not on the sound folder.
