The Tagmata - Special Unit for the Byzantine Empire

Description
Overview
This mod gives Byzantium a new special unit called the Tagmata, named after the military formation used by the Byzantines during the 8th to 11th century. The unit is unlocked with the Tier 5 government reform "Theme System" (modified vanilla reform), which also gives a 20% fraction to how many Tagmata you can recruit. In addition, there are also six unique decisions that allows you to improve upon the Tagmata, as long as you fulfil the requirements for the decision (these decisions effectively act as mini-missions).

When it comes to balance, I've tried to keep them roughly in line with other special units in the game, and otherwise offset bonuses with increased costs and debuffs. The decisions allowing for improving the Tagmata are likewise something you have to strive towards, in order to get those sweet buffs. In addition, given that the Theme System is a vanilla reform, and that it now gives you access to the Tagmata unit, I also reduced its vanilla effects to compensate.

Also, for those who are wondering, no, I did not manage to do what no other modders have done and actually create a new special unit. This is just the Musketeer special unit that has had its localisation, graphics and modifiers changed. Suffice it to say, you should probably not play France with this mod active.

Compatibility
The mod is designed to be somewhat lightweight, however it will have compatibility issues with mods that edit base buildings, static modifiers or 'common' government reforms. If you're wondering, you can ask, and if it isn't compatible I might be able to make it so, or maybe just make a compatibility mod if I have the time.

Europa Expanded is compatible.

If you have any feedback on balance, bugs or anything else, feel free to leave it in the comments.

@Hoplite Sure! Honestly, you can just look at the files of this mod to see what I did. It's fairly lightweight, and contains everything you'd need to make something similar, as all you'd have to do is change modifiers/localisations etc.

Keep in mind, EU4 does not allow you to actually "create" new special units (it's hardcoded), but only rename and change preexisting ones. This mod changes the musketeer unit, because AI france largely never uses it anyway.

If you want to change around modifiers (or change another unit other than musketeers), this site on the wiki [eu4.paradoxwikis.com] contains basically everything you need.

If you have any other questions, I accepted your friend request, so you can ask whenever (though I'm notoriously slow to respond to messages lol)

Hi! I really like your mod — great work! I'm interested in learning how to mod Europa Universalis IV, and I was wondering if you'd be willing to help me create a similar mod. I'd like to make unique units for other countries, but I'm not sure where to start. Would you be open to sharing some guidance or tips?

Thanks in advance!
