🏞 Map description:

This map is a lovely combination of reality and fantasy, perfect for players who like to develop their own transportation networks without being constrained by too much realism.

You will find a diverse topography with:

Mountains (larger than in the real model - for more challenge)
Forests (naturally integrated for forestry and atmosphere)
Wide plains (ideal for train routes and large cities)
Relevant rivers: Rhine, Weser, Ruhr, Mittellandkanal
Important mountains & mountain ranges: Teutoburg Forest & Deister

👉 I created the map by hand with the help of Google Maps, so there may be deviations in the geography.

👉 In addition, the map was shifted so that the actual north is in the north-western area - this was the only way to achieve the chosen geography (see pictures in the workshop).

The Ruhr region lies at one end of the map as a dense urban center, while at the other end the metropolitan areas of Hanover and Bremen serve as a counterweight - realistically anchored, but creatively implemented.

🏙 City sizes (population status 01.01.2025 - fictitiously scaled):

🟥 Huge (1 city)

Dortmund

🟧 Large (3 cities)

🟨 Medium (6 Cities)

🧪 Industries & economy

The industries have been inserted half realistically and half fictitiously. There are big names such as Aral, BASF, Aldi or the Farüchoc chocolate factory, but also smaller fictitious companies to suit the region.

No industry closures
Emissions deactivated
Production is optimized for the game, not purely realistic

🎯 Conclusion

If you are looking for a perfectly realistic map of Germany - you may not be in the right place.
But:
If you are looking for a playfully interesting, varied, nicely balanced map with loving details, mountains, forests, real cities and fictional extensions - then you've come to the right place!

📥 Have fun playing - feedback in the workshop is welcome!
