Hello, welcome ✋
This guide lists the achievements an enterprising blacksmith can obtain in Blacksmith Master.

The achievement list is pretty straightforward - play the game and you'll unlock most of the achievements in a single playthrough. Most will come naturally and quickly. A handful will take ages to unlock. Fortunately nothing is missable, but game mechanics make obtaining some achievements artificially slow if you unlock too many techs in the Mastery Tree too early (i.e. if you go hard at the start you'll pay for it mid-game and beyond).

For completionists looking to platinum the game I'd estimate 20 - 30 hours and you should have everything wrapped up. For an Early Access title there is a lot of game here for the price point.

Several achievements are tied to different parts of your blacksmithing operations. I've done my best to group achievements together where it makes sense to do so:
  • gathering ore and wood
  • crafting items
  • selling items in the shop
  • completing merchant offers
  • staffing and recruitment
  • time spent in-game
  • doing something for the first time
  • managing trade routes
  • blueprints and upgrades
  • random miscellaneous achievements that don't neatly fit into any other category.
There is a short blurb at the top of each section which outlines what is needed to unlock the achievements for that section.

Also, I've written several guides covering most game mechanics which are linked throughout the various sections below. Reach out in the comment section below if you have any questions or things I've written don't make sense.

Now, onto the list!
⛏️ Gathering
How to unlock these achievements: assign lumberjacks and miners to gather the resources.
The various wood and ore types become available once they have been researched in the Mastery Tree.

Iron Collector
Mine 1,000 iron

Copper Collector
Mine 1,000 copper

Silver Collector
Mine 1,000 silver

Oak Collector
Gather 1,000 oak

Pine Collector
Gather 1,000 pine

Deforester
Cut down an entire forest

This should come naturally as you play. Purchase 3 beds, hire up to 12 lumberjacks and let them get to work. Each day they'll clear a little bit of the forest and it will be entirely gone within 50 days (much sooner if you focus on this early during your playthrough).

Note: you cannot build beyond the little area in the centre of the map - you're limited to within the circle of torches as per the image below.

💰 Selling
How to unlock these achievements: set up your shop, make it look pretty, attract customers and sell things.

Shopkeeping
Have your own shop

First Sale
Sell your first item in the shop

First Sales
Sell 10 items in the shop

Steady Seller
Sell 100 items in the shop

Seasoned Seller
Sell 1,000 items in the shop

Master Seller
Sell 5,000 items in the shop

As your customer rating goes up so will the number of potential shoppers who will come to your shop each day. The higher the quality of items you have for sale, the greater the chance that they'll buy something.

After completing countless merchant offers for weapons and wares, helping the wee folk out with all their metal working needs, the way I became the most influential, renown and wealthy blacksmith in all the lands was to start selling painted clay made into fancy shapes. That's right, my road to being a kingpin in Blacksmith Master and sell 5,000 items in the shop was less to do with blacksmithing and everything to do with pottery.

Why try to make several different types of items which require every resource available. The sheer number of workers needed to collect, smelt, craft and move it all is quite significant; the only thing larger is the daily wages needed to pay all the wood cutters, miners, metal workers, carpenters and assistants. That being said, this is one way to build a large blacksmithing operation and through it sell lots of items in your shop. That is not the route I took.

For me, the simpler approach was to use the smallest supply lines, the fewest workers and with them get the biggest bang for my efforts. And that is why going the clay route I believe is the easiest way to sell 5,000 items in the shop. The reason is simple - you can turn the most common item in the game - iron ore - into about 200,000g each day after expenses. Here's how:
  • Unlock Trade Routes and Pottery in the Mastery Tree.
  • Unlock the Clay Pits Trade Route. Start at tier 1 and work up to tier 4 (costs 180,000g in total to unlock).
  • At tier 4 the trade requires 100 wide cooking pans in return for 200 clay. One steel ingot is required per wide cooking pan. 2 iron ore are required to make one steel ingot. So the whole trade only requires 200 iron ore per day.
  • With those 200 clay you can make clay, black, blue, terracotta, golden and mosaic amphora, pots and vases - a total of 18 different items.
  • Upgrade the blueprints of these 18 items to legendary and the customers will start rolling in. Combine this with a high customer rating and the only issue is deciding how many cashiers to employ.
Here are my receipts. And again, this isn't the most efficient setup. Just what I wanted to run with. You can quite easily do it with half the workforce I have and really bring that wages expense down.

The thing I like most about this setup is you only need 3 floors in your workshop - one to make the wide cooking pans, one for the pottery and one to sell all that phat loot. Easy peasy.

Popular
Attract at least 100 customers per day to your shop

Best in Town
Attract at least 500 customers per day to your shop

There are plenty of ways to unlock this achievement. The easiest way I found was to:
  • Unlock Racks 3 in the Mastery Tree
  • Buy 167 level 3 racks, which give +3 customer rating each (bottom left in image below).
🛒Merchant Offers
How to unlock these achievements: complete merchant offers.
Note: there is no in-game way to determine how many you've completed so best to keep a record for yourself if you want to track your progress.

Work, Work!

Complete 25 merchant offers

Hard Worker
Complete 50 merchant offers

Respected Merchant

Master of the Market

Just in Time
Complete a timed merchant offer in time

Hidden Riches
Open a mystery chest with treasure inside

Occasionally you'll see merchant offers that will reward you with a chest instead of gold coins.

Complete the order and open the chest. Most of the time you'll find junk inside, but very rarely it will be treasure. The achievement will unlock when you strike it rich!
👥Staffing
How to unlock these achievements: hire lots of workers.

Talent Acquisition
Hire 10 staff

Best Employer
Hire 50 staff

Hire 50 staff in total from the hiring menu and elite menu to unlock the achievement. This will cost $191,250 without discounts.

Unlocking Hiring Discount 1, Hiring Discount 2 and Hiring Discount 3 in the Mastery Tree will provide a 500g, 1000g, and 1500g discount on hiring new workers, respectively.

Hiring multiple elite workers with the hiring discount will further decrease the cost to hire new staff.

Below are the costs to hire staff - baseline costs (no discounts) and when discounts are applied (up to 50% off).

Staff cost - baseline (no discounts)

Staff costs with discounts applied (10-50%)

Natural Talent
Hire first super worker

The Super Workers skill in the Mastery Tree needs to be unlocked before you can hire a super worker.

Super workers will begin to appear in the hiring menu once the skill has been unlocked. They are identifiable with the blue background behind their name and have two positive traits.

Golden Goose
Hire first elite worker

Elite workers provide buffs to your workforce and are a great asset to your workshop. They are identifiable with the purple background behind their name and a new elite worker can be selected to join your workshop after every 20 merchant offers you complete.

This tooltip in the merchant offers screen is a little misleading. Elite workers don't automatically join your workshop as soon as you complete 20 merchant offers. You need to have a free staff bench for them and you need to select one from a pool of 3 possible candidates.

Unlike the hiring menu, this list cannot be refreshed. That said, If you don't like the look of the workers, give it a day and a new batch of candidates will be available to review in the morning. Select one and the counter denoting how many merchant offers have been completed will reset to zero. Complete another 20 merchant orders to select another elite worker.

Maxed Out!
Have one blacksmith at maximum level.

There are two ways to unlock this achievement:
  1. Hire an elite worker with max stats (e.g. Alan - see below).

  2. Or rank a blacksmith up to level 15. Without any xp modifiers, a blacksmith earns 25xp for every item it makes and will require 64,500xp to reach level 15 when starting at level 1. A total of 2,580 items will need to be made.
The xp grind can be made a little bit easier as there is an elite worker (Blythe - see below) that comes with a buff which increases xp gains by +10%, adding 2.5 xp to every item made.

XP bonuses stack, so hiring multiple elite workers with this buff can be an effective strategy to speed up the leveling process.
  • Base level: 25xp per item
  • 1 elite hired (+2.5 xp): 27.5 xp per item
  • 2 elites hired (+2.5 xp): 30.0 xp per item
  • 3 elites hired (+2.5 xp): 32.5 xp per item
  • 4 elites hired (+2.5 xp): 35 xp per item
  • 5 elites hired (+2.5 xp): 37.5 xp per item

Character levels, required xp and the number of items needed by a blacksmith to level are shown below - this includes the number of items required when xp bonuses are applied.

The total amount of design points required to upgrade all blueprints from common to legendary is a whopping 750,910. An jump of 425,120 from rare quality.

How I researched this amount of design points was to use 63 designers set up in the 9-by-7 configuration below.

For reference, a blacksmith with 10 points in design and the +20% trait will earn 300 design point per day. 63 fully maxed designers will earn 18,900 design points a day and will take about 17 days to earn 325k design points, or about 40 days to reach 750k.

Here is the price for all 97 item blueprints once fully upgraded to legendary quality:
