P-26-A (China) P-26-A(中华民国空军)

The P-26 fighter is a type of propeller-driven fighter aircraft developed and equipped by the United States in the 1930s. It was also the last mass-produced single-wing, single-engine propeller fighter aircraft by the Boeing Company before its restructuring and renaming, and was used by the United States Army Air Corps. While the production line for Boeing's P-26 was still operational for the U.S. Army Air Corps, the Nationalist Government of China also purchased a batch of Boeing 281 fighters, which were similar in design to the P-26 (referred to by China as the Boeing 248). In 1934, Boeing produced a total of 10 such aircraft for China, but due to insufficient funding and other reasons, the delivery to China was delayed until 1936. All these Boeing 248 fighters were operated by the 17th Squadron and subsequently participated in the battle to defend Nanjing.

P-26战斗机，是20世纪30年代美国研制装备的一型螺旋桨战斗机,也是美国波音公司拆分更名前量产的最后一中单翼单发螺旋桨战斗机，由美国陆军航空队所使用 。当波音的 P-26 生产线还在为美国陆航运转的时候，中国国民党政府也采购了一批款式与 P-26 相仿的波音 281（中方称为波音 248）战斗机，波音公司在 1934 年共为中国生产了 10 架上述飞机，不过由于资金不到位等原因拖到 1936 年才向中国发货。这些波音 248 均由 17 中队使用，并在随后参加了保卫南京的战斗。
