Welcome to this guide!
I hope it will help you configuring Ford Street Racing!
Basically, it is a copy of my guide for Ford Racing 3, except for a few new pictures and a different game path, there is no big difference.

A few things in advance:
  • The images were taken on my old laptop running Windows 7 - the GUI should not be too different to the one in e.g. Windows 10.
  • After you made your setup for the game, don't forget to click on "OK"!
  • If you cannot start the program, try to run it as an administrator and/or in Windows 7 compatibility mode.
  • In the case of graphical modifications such as antialiasing, you most likely will have to fiddle around with your graphic driver's settings (e.g. NVIDIA Control Panel). This goes beyond the contents of this guide though - good luck!

Lets get you helped!

Oh, and if you liked this guide, do not forget to leave a thumbs-up. You can leave some Steam Points too. Not a must, of course :)
Finding "syscfg.exe"
Navigate the Explorer to following path (it depends on which path you installed Steam!)

X:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Ford Street Racing\CONFIG

The path kinda should look like the one I gave you above.

Alternatively, search the game in your Steam library, right-click on it, select "Properties". A new windows pops up; choose the tab "LOCAL FILES", then choose "BROWSE LOCAL FILES...". The game's directory should be visible now.
Choose the folder "CONFIG" and open it!

Start the little .exe-file "syscfg.exe"!
Changing the display resolution and display adapter
After the program started, a new window appears:

Here you can change the graphics card and the display resolution you want to play the game!
Changing the audio-settings
Navigate to the "Audio"-tab. You will see following window:

Here you can set up the audio-output, if there should be any additional effects and if the sound even has to be enabled.

I don't even know whoever would play without enabled sound...
Changing the graphic quality
With navigating to the tab "Detail Level", the window will show you following content:

Set the graphic qualities how you want them to be. Current PCs of any class should get constant 60FPS whilst you play the game like I set it!
Changing the controls
With clicking on "Controls", the program will show you following:

You can choose between "Player 1" and "Player 2"; with clicking on "configure controls", a new window appears, in which you can change the keys for every ingame command.
Changing the ingame language
Navigate to the tab "Language Selection", and choose your preferred language!

As pointed out by several players, there seems to be a "assert language bug". Raxyz provided a useful fix for this. Thanks!

If you're on Windows 10 and get an assert error right at start, try Windows 7 compatibility, it's what fixed it for me.

@lisao10: Try following the steps Thor mentioned. If this does not work, then it is up to the devs to fix this...

@[RGX] Striker: Try running the .exe as Administrator. Worked for me. I set a big resolution and started getting a warning that would close the sysconfig before I could change back.

@[RGX] Striker: Seems to be some program-related issue, better said something with the language (obviously). Contact the support... If they answer, you're lucky.
