How to create SFM Helmet camera/GoPro in sfm
By serryntonin
Hello, everyone. This is a pretty simple trick I learned that I thought would be interesting to use.

The (rather short) guide
1. spawn your animation lists (character, scene camera, gun, etc
2. make sure your camera is directly in front of the part you want to connect it to (if you're really experienced you'd know how to lock the camera for anything so as an alternative you could, for example, connect it to it's spine bone closest to the chest to get a GoPro look instead), in this case, you'll need to get the camera riiiight in between the eyes.
3. lock the camera to the head bone.
Now your camera is (effectively) a GoPro or a Helmet Cam This ultimately makes a good look if you're also pretty intermediate, as you can focus on where the character's looking/shooting while relieving you half the need of animating the character connected to the scene camera.
Simple tips:
1. You can connect certain parts of the gun's model (i.e, barrel/foregrip/handle) to your character's left/right hands (should they be properly positioned to seem as if they're holding it that way). Unless your character's doing anything aside from moving and shooting, you shouldnt need to bother the character's arms as long as you've already posed them with the gun correctly.
2. if you make sure your keyframes are right, and angle the model correctly in keyframes, you can make some interesting fast-pace footage that really looks like gopro footage of a battle, should you be able to make it chaotic enough.
