Welcome back to another guide and happy holidays!
It's that time of the year again, for you to wash, but also for the first yearly event in phasmophobia. The Forest Spirit has returned, and yep… it’s our job to banish it. Again. This year brings some fresh changes: community and personal rewards, a rotating map pool, and gameplay modifiers during your investigations. (Don’t worry — I cover all of that later!)

We will need to head into any of the 9 maps that is being haunted and track down totems to destroy them and bring out the Forest Spirit to be banished.

Fair warning, though: the Forest Spirit doesn’t take kindly to anyone messing with his things — playing with the totems might just have some… adverse effects...

It'll probably be fine though, so let's get started!

This guide was made in collaboration with GameWatcher! Go check out what I wrote for them on their site, It's free too read but also helps me with my work <3[www.gamewatcher.com]
How to take part
The Event Board

Before getting started, we recommend visiting the event board by the van. There, you'll find everything you need to know about the event, including how long until the event ends and requirements for participation, such as:
  • Identify the ghost correctly
  • Complete optional objectives
  • Find and reveal any forest minions
You can also track your progress toward both community and personal rewards—yep, you can earn both now! Even better, rewards are automatically claimed as you unlock them.
The rewards available for this event include the following items:
  • Community Stage 1 - Event ID Card and Badge
  • Community Stage 2 - Upgradable Event Trophy
  • Stage 1 Personal – Foil Event ID Card
  • Stage 2 Personal – Trophy Upgrade 1

Stage progress is based on points—you'll earn them by doing things like identifying ghosts and tracking Forest Minions. This what you'll get for different tasks:
Objective
Points
Info
Finding Forest Minions
2 pts
Shining a D.O.T.S on the nest and revealing the minion
Complete Optional Objectives
3 pts
Each Side Objective will give you 3 points (each?)
Identify Ghost Correctly
10 pts
Correctly identify the ghost for a huge boost in points.
Difficulty Multiplier
1-15 pts
For every 1x in difficulty, you get 1 extra point. So a x15 multiplier grants an extra 15pts.

Map Selection

The Cursed Hollow event has a pool of nine maps, with four active each day—though sometimes only one may rotate. Active, haunted event maps for the day are marked with a Nest icon on the map board, and redecorated by the Forest Minion and Spirit you need to find. Only these marked maps grant event points and progress.

The Forest Spirit and it's Minions
The Minions
And no, not the despicable me ones.

The first step is finding the nests scattered around the map. These are often tucked into corners or near furniture—sometimes accompanied by jars of fireflies—and sometimes filled with broken eggs. There is no difference in how it looks, they all can spawn a Minion.

To reveal a Forest Minion, you’ll need to first place a D.O.T.S device near a nest. I recommend using Tier I, but Tier 3 D.O.T.S is also effective (Albeit slow.) Not every nest is occupied, but if you listen closely when you're nearby, you might catch a faint chittering or whispering sound—that’s your cue to set up your D.O.T.S!

Once you hear it, either shine your D.O.T.S directly at the nest or, if you're using Tier II or higher, set it up on a nearby wall and let it scan the area. If a small jackrabbit is present and exposed it'll do one of three things:

Queue
Effect
Minion runs away
Gain 5% Sanity, ghost speed decrease by 5%
Minion Lunges at you
Lose 10% Sanity
Minion turns gold
(Very are) It will start a cursed hunt

Tip: You dont need to take a picture, just expose that bad boy/thing

That's more or less it for the Minions. You get points for finding these minions but they also slightly effect the Forest Spirit, which seamlessly segues us into the next part:

Coming Soon!

Personal Goal 2: Trophy Upgrade I

Coming Soon!

Personal Goal 3: Trophy Upgrade II

Seems like I need 1000 points to get Trophy upgrade 1, not including the 300 for Foil ID card.
Leaderboard points says 370, Trophy Upgrade 1 progress: 7% (the progress updated when I left singleplayer lobby and loaded the main menu lobby)

Correction to this; The golden rabbit does not start a cursed hunt, it's a forced hunt more similar to the Onryo candle ability, as it can be blocked normally with a cruci, which a cursed cannot. And to the guy below I mentioned further down the multiplier is added as its number to the points so x3 would be 3 points etc.

After minor testing the difficulty doesn't seem to matter in prof perfect investigation got 28 points and in amateur i got 30 points. If difficulty mattered i should have seen professional ahead since one it's x3 the other x1.

@Mikey / Themichiextream It's a bug, you're still earning progress but the bar won't move. It normally fixes itself after a few games

My Event Points are stuck at 2052 and the % on the wall doesn't change. I already tried reinstalling and waiting a day, but there's still no change. Any ideas on how to fix it?
SirPoppss  [autor] 25. dub. v 16.40
@LukasLkb Thought so, thanks for the help!
LukasLKB 25. dub. v 16.11
I think Tier I is about 1000 points, Tier 2 somewhere about 2000 and Tier III is exactly on 3600.
LukasLKB 25. dub. v 16.08
You keep your points and only add another points, So between Tier II and Tier III are about 1800 points as you say
SirPoppss  [autor] 25. dub. v 16.02
@LukasLkb That's something that's confused me and others, so each level requires double the last no? Or the Trophy Upgrade II points carry over, so you keep 1800 and only need another 1800 to reach the 3600 for the Trophy Upgrade III
LukasLKB 25. dub. v 15.54
Done, solo, on upgrade III you need 3600 points. Thats all you need for all rewards.
