In Closing

You do not need to activate any map settings to unlock Gaze of Gaea. All you have to do is not kill any enemies for one minute. At the end of one minute, an animation will appear to make you realise that you have unlocked the weapon.

I used Trouser for this. Used his Candybox to select the Laurel so it was impossible to deal damage. I didn't realize I only needed to last a minute :D
