Mods can make it an enjoyable and stable experience full of new features and important bug fixes. Graphic and Visual upgrades are the tip of the iceberg, under the hood, mods can add new weapons, new & upgraded locations, as well as new romance options. The possibilities are endless. WHAT IS VORTEX MOD MANAGER?

Ensure the game has been run at least once before setting it up, as this creates necessary files for proper mod installation.

For Cyberpunk 2077 users, Vortex integrates with REDmod and is a hard requirement, Redmod is the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ modding framework used for Cyberpunk 2077.

Download Redmod on Steam located in the DLC tab.

Installing "Vortex" Mod Manager Tool

2.a) How To: Installing Mods for Cyberpunk 2077

To get started, visit the Nexus Mods website @ https://www.nexusmods.com/ (Vortex Download) and download the Vortex installer. Run the installer and follow the prompts to install Vortex on your computer. After installation, launch Vortex and log into your Nexus Mods account.

2.b) Setting Up a Cyberpunk 2077 Mod Profile

Open Vortex, go to the "Games" section, and search for Cyberpunk 2077.
Select it to manage. If the game isn’t automatically detected, click "Manage" and then "Add Game Manually," navigating to the game’s installation directory;
(C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Cyberpunk 2077 for Steam users).

2.c) Installing Mods and Using the Collection

On the Nexus Mods website navigate to the "Mods[www.nexusmods.com]" section to search for and install individual mods directly. -Alternatively, visit the link provided in Section 3. and install my curated mod collection, an all in one solution to get you started. Simply navigate to the collections tab, or search for Night City X and click "Add Collection" on the right hand side of the collection's page, and follow the prompts to download and install all the mods with Vortex.

Note that the process may vary slightly for free users versus premium Nexus Mods users, with premium users experiencing faster downloads.

2.d) Installing Mods from Nexus Mods Using Vortex

Browsing and Installing from Nexus Mods Website

Visit the Nexus Mods website and browse for Cyberpunk 2077 mods. On a mod page, look for the "Install with Vortex"button if available. Clicking it will prompt Vortex to download and install the mod.

Downloading and Installing via "Click to Drag" into Vortex

You can click-and-drag mods you've downloaded manually into the "Drop Files" box located at the bottom of the "Mods" tab in Vortex. Vortex will automatically install the mod and archive it's files. Any errors or missing information will be sent to a staging folder and require your confirmation when making changes to mod files. Son don't worry it's nearly fool proof.

Note that some mods may require MANUAL INSTALLATION, especially if they have off-site requirements, so follow any author's instructions.

How to download a Collection as a Free User - Nexus Mods Collections

It’s recommended to start with a clean install (an un-modded game) to avoid complications with existing mod lists. Check the collection and the individual mod's comments for feedback on compatibility with the current game version, especially if there are complaints about issues.

Vortex requires Windows 10 or higher. For other operating systems, refer to manual install guides on the Vortex Wiki.

Be aware that many collections are outdated or abandoned. Verify compatibility by checking comments on the collection page, and avoid those with frequent complaints.
