Description
"Have you ever thought about what if a tank variant is mutated from a grenadier soldier? Are you ready to have not only rocks but also grenades thrown at you?"


Yeah, & that will come true with this mod. This mod allows tank to automatically throw grenades at survivors. A cfg file is now added to allow people to set the spawn chance of "Grenadier Tank".


List of features available on "grenadier tank.txt" cfg file:
  1. Tank Variant Spawn Chance: The chance for "Grenadier Tank" to spawn. Modify this if you want to make "Grenadier Tank" as one of RNG tanks instead, so normal tanks can still spawn. Max value= 100 (100% chance, "Grenadier Tank" will always spawn & replace normal tank).


Mechanisms of "Grenadier Tank":
  • After spawning, tank will start to throw random grenades every 5 seconds when he takes damage.

  • This "Grenadier Tank" has greenish skin compared to the normal tank (see the image preview).. A notification will show up if this tank spawns.

  • Grenades thrown by tank will be ignited on fire (to make them easier to see so survivors know where to avoid).

  • Tank only throws a grenade when he's looking at a survivor when he's taking damage. It means that if tank is on fire after getting hit by molotov, he'll keep throwing random grenades every 5 seconds.

  • The types of random grenades: pipe bomb, molotov, bile bomb, acid spit (how do you feel like to have a tank spit on you huh? :D ).

  • The grenade thrown by tank has special mechanisms, like:
    - It will be triggered automatically when it detects a survivor in melee range.
    - If there's no survivor, it will be triggered in 2 seconds after it's thrown.
    - Pipe bomb will automatically explode when detecting a survivor in melee range.
    - Pipe bomb has explosion radius of 250 (same as GL).
    - Pipe bomb deals 25 damage in point-blank range. The farther from it, the lesser damage.
    - Molotov explodes automatically when detecting a survivor in melee range.
    - Bile bomb explodes & trigger bile smoke when detecting a survivor in melee range.
    - Bile bomb causes survivors in radius of 350 around the explosion to be covered in vomit.
    - Bile explosion bypasses obstacles/ walls, so survivors who are taking cover still get biled.
    - Acid spit triggers acid on the ground when detecting a survivor in melee range.

  • Tips for survivors: Keep moving to prevent tank from looking at you when you're attacking him. Take cover if he starts to throw a grenade (though it will be useless if the grenade is bile bomb).

  • Tips for tank: Keep looking at a survivor if you want to throw random grenades automatically.


So, prepare yourself. Tank is now also a long-ranged dealer :D .


NOTES:
  • This mod should be compatible with "Super Tanks" mod, so, if you use both, all tank variants on "Super Tanks" will be able to throw random grenades (in other words, increased difficulty).
  • For now, there's no cfg file. But if there are more requests for a cfg file, I'll add it later.

@Everice , I leave that to you as there's already your "Super Tanks" mod :steamhappy: . I'm not good enough at making complicated effects & features, so probably I'll go to certain "mutated special infected" instead later. But you can also try to do something like "Super Special Infected" if you want, as it would be cooler if you're the one to make it, seeing how excellent the "Super Tanks" is made.

@PythiaX , what number did you set on " Tank Variant Spawn Chance " on the cfg file? That feature control the spawn chance/ probability of "Grenadier Tank" (green tank). Last time I tested before updating, I set the number to 10 & normal tank could still spawn.

@(^^^) Xeno , that's also possible, but I'm not sure about which special infected are the most suitable to have that throwable ability.
