A few have approached me of asking to use uncompress format such BGR888 or ABGR888 etc for the VTF texture rather than the uses of DXT5 and DXT1. Although it will indeed give a resolution improvement in low texture resolution settings, it is not worth the trade off that the file size will grow to unnecessary scale. I will continuously put file size into consideration when porting and my personal limit is usually 50mb exclude the model files, and if some down the line a model will exceed that then I have no choice to down-scale any of its possible textures by half.
