coming to rivals... as a fighter?


CONTROLS

hold down strong to scroll the stage, watch out, you can't scroll when being hit

select your troop and deploy it to disrupt the opponents, if they get to the flag it's over

if you're having trouble with 1-1 staying centered on screen, make sure local frame skip is off (settings -> visuals)

From my understanding of messing around in practice, to "scroll", you need to hit the ground with an attack that is capable of dealing knockback, this includes the pipe, the scrolling occurs in the direction of knockback. Knockback scaling from match settings appears to influence scroll speed. However, it can get rather long when you don't have a character that reliably can trigger the scrolling this way, especially in the flat area after the first three pipes.

Sometimes launching enemies will push the screen in the according direction, though this doesn't work every time and sometimes goes backwards.

This has been very entertaining, keep up the good work. :steamthumbsup:

oh my god this is amazing! would love to see something based off pvz like this.

maybe versus mode? pick plants and or zombies? that would be awesome! if one person is plants and one is zombies they could battle, or you could just stick with one side, but man it could work!

I think plant spawning on all pipes works, also because having to trace all player's position each time is a pain performance wise

With 1-1's full CPU potential now unleashed, I wonder how an opponent can win against him?

All 1-1 has to do is throw everything over and over, the end. It's too affordable for him. Players don't stand a chance at any match lasting longer than 45 seconds. And the new continual backwards creep only adds to the impossibility.

I wonder what this troop deploy system would look like, all kinks ironed out? In the meanwhile, some easy-implement fixes could be: remove the continual backwards creep (which doesn't mean "no back creep at all"); Piranha Plant deploy only applies to one pipe on screen, biased towards opponent nearness.
