Overview
Just a quick taste of how it looks. It is Gothic 1 old school classic but made anew.
This is a one man project by Dmitry Kalyuzhny by the way. Impressive huh?

How to join into Beta on Steam
First you need to own Gothic 1 Classic on Steam

Then you need to right click the game in your library

Select Properties > Betas

In Beta participation select "Unreal Beta - Gothic Classic in Unreal" from the dropdown menu

The game will download the necessary files.

Hit play on Steam like you normally do with any game and choose Unreal.

If for some reason there is no Unreal Beta in the dropdown menu then

In the Betas below, look for Private Betas and write there: TheColonyisNotUnreal

hit check code to the right of the field where you wrote it

then repeat the steps with Beta participation.

Troubleshooting
If you have problems with the game you can navigate to %appdata%\Local\

if you type %appdata% in windows search you can open the appdata folder instantly

find Gothic folder and delete it.

That folder contains your savegames and also all configuration files for settings, and cache. You can back up savegames if you like.

Additionally, with 1.1 you have to start a new game because it added mod support and many other changes.

Full path to config folder:

C:\Users\yourUserName\AppData\Local\Gothic

if you have trouble with DX12 you can try launching the game in DX11 like so:
