short guide that explain how to play GTA IV without having to create a GFWL online account.

the game still need a first time activation with securom , GFWL will still need to be installed and online games won't be available.

this guide consider that you have installed and update GFWL and that the GFWL client is functionall on your computer , this link will allow you to download the most recent version of GFWL http://www.xbox.com/fr-CA/Live/PC/DownloadClient

there is technically no need to create a rockstar social club account if you don't want to play online ... there is indeed 3 buttons on the social club window and one does Indeed say 'play (offline) ... which allow to run the game without entering a account name or password.

çe guide considère que vous avez installer GFWL et fait les mise a jours néscésaires pour que le client GFWL soient fonctionell sur votre ordinateur.

Il n'y a aucun besoin de créé un compte Rocstar social club pour jouer hors-ligne , comme montré sur l'image il y a un lien nommé jouer (hors ligne) qui lance le jeux sans avoir a entré de nom de compte ou de mot de passe

first step

so the first step is to reach the GFWL home page which invite you to create a new account and then yeah , click on create a new profile.

la toute première chose ç'est d'atteindre L'écran d'accueil de GFWL lives et de cliquer sur la fonction 'crée un nouveaux profile

second step

there you have a loads of text informing you of what GFWL is and what it does , don't click continue right away since it's will take you to the screen to create a online account which is not what this guide is about.

Instead scroll down the text and look for some blue text , it's say 'create a Offline profile' ... click on this link instead.

et puis a présent GFWL vous présente çe texte qui Informe le joueur des fontionalité de game for windows live , ne cliquer pas sur continuer tous de suite sinon vous alez manquer le pourquoi de l'extistence de çe quide.


au lieu de faire çela faite défiler le texte et reguardé bien attentivement pour un texte en bleu , vous pourré voir une phrase disant 'crée un profile local' ... clicker sure çe texte.

Finaly type in a name and play the game ... just without multiplayer.

normally if you done everything right ... this screen should show up and allow you to just enter a name , play the game and save all your progress on your own hard drive , no the game does not even ask you for the CD-key if you done it right , you have to mind that this also prevent you from joining online games ... thru the LAN multiplayers should still be working.

normalement si vous avez suivi les instructions a la lettres cette écran devrait apparaitre , entré votre nom de joueur et puis vous y etes ... a présent le jeux fonctionera avec des sauvegarde fait localement sur votre disque dur et en plus vous n'auré même pas a fournir Un clef CD valide.
a noter que les fontions de jeux en ligne ne seront pas disponible , le mode de jeux réseau LAN devrait être encore fonctionelle cependant.

can anyone tell me if i downgrade my steam version with config for gfwl, can i play multiplayer by logging in using social club account ? does it ask cd key and gfwl account?

they removed a few songs and even multiplayer so if poeple want those back they might want to downgrade

This isn't working on my copy of GTA IV. I even tried first running the steam client in offline mode and then running GTA IV. But nothing worked. All I know is that my "Rockstar Social Club" launcher does NOT provide an option for offline play. Your screenshot (which shows an offline play button) is not the same as my screenshot.
Here's what the screenshot of my launcher looks like.

You can also delete the file called Paul.dll to skip the rockstar social club login.

Well, after reinstal I don't have the Play Oflline button. It always worked for me, but now it is gone and I can't even launch my game.

this guide can still be usefull for those who don't want to play online and not interested in having to log-in with their microsoft account in the game ,

something that I've noticed is that there is a good ammount of peoples that complained their game would not connect online even if their GFLW client was updated to the last version.
