~Why hello There-~
:WARNINGS:
Game Spoilers & Probably Bad punctuation lol ^^;
--------

Alright before we get started I will be just briefly saying this, this is my first ever guide! Yippie!

Anyway- more importantly some of these farms can get rather expensive BUT I will try to provide alternates for certain objects used within them.
I also have messed around A LOT with A LOT of different types of farms and these are what I found work best for me.. It may be different for you so! If you have any questions feel free to ask.

As a fun little thing I will also add extra information about mobs and such!
Most of the info I got has been from the wiki and personal experience from playing the game
--------
CHESTS WILL BE YOUR FRIEND!
~Critter Farm~
--------
Now Critter's or the bugs of the game spawn within their respective biomes- Of course there are a few exceptions.. But long term there is no real way to farm them with out wasting a bunch of time- And making a automated farm is out of the question!

However! I do have useful information on this subject that may help >:)
--------

GLOW BUGS DO NOT COUNT AS CRITTERS DON'T LET THEM FOOL YOU!
:Only Reliable Farm-able Bugs:
--------
  • Black Bugs
They are they only bug able to spawn within any biome.
~
The best way to farm them is the breaking of wooden/ charred crates (Which can be picked up with a shovel and moved) along with the farming of Naturally occurring/ Farm Grown wood (Normal/ Thorn/ Coral/ Gleam).
~

Please note: They are counted as a 'ground' type so you can accidentally step on them, make sure you turn that setting off so you don't squish em! They can also go under walls, fences & other ground tiles like Spike traps.

--------

:Small Spawning Theory:
--------
Now if you check the wiki it'll list the biomes that certain bugs can spawn in right?
Well while I was playing I noticed a bug that's supposed to only spawn in the Shimmering Frontier had instead spawned in my base located within The Core/ Stater Area.

At the time I had Crystal Blocks laid down where the bug spawned so- there might be a rare chance for them to spawn in any biome as long as a single tile block of it's respective biome exists there.
(Small side note- I'm pretty sure worm spawn rates increase when the ground is hoed)
--------
~Wood, Ore & Fish Farm Automation~
--------
These are really simple and can be made as big or as small as you want really! I won't go into much detail here since.. The images say it all lol!

I however will say this, just like the critter farm- There is no real way to farm fish since it's a stand there and wait activity, However! You can make it easier by turning off the mini game and using bait along with fish boosting jewelry!
--------

--------
~Cattle Farm Automation~
Now I will say I haven't personally tested this one out yet- But! I have seen other screen shots of people using this and it seems to be the best way to Automate cattle farming.

So Let's start simple! Keep in mind you can always extend your farm length wise to fit in more cattle in it AND! Sadly You will have to refill the Feeding Trays every now and again.

PS. Skip to the bottom of this section if you just want the automation farm ;)
--------

:Some Basic Cattle Info:
--------
Cattle will NOT re-spawn out in the wild and can be attacked by other mobs, so when you see one box it in as fast as possible! Don't worry to much though- They can be bred in captivity.

How do you breed them?
When two of the same cattle have eaten 30 times a baby will spawn, The baby will not produce anything until it is grown, it'll become grown once it eats 8 times.
--------

There are currently 5 farm-able cattle in game;
  • Moolin
Mainly Found in The Core/ Starter Area's Sub-Biome The Meadow. It can also spawn in;
- Large Meadow (Structure)
- Meadow Pen (Scene within Azeos' Wilderness)
- Meadow Spiral (Scene within Azeos' Wilderness)
It Will Produce Milk & Can Eat Any Farm-able Food Including Mushrooms and Bomb Peppers.
  • Bambuck
Mainly Found in The Core/ Starter Area's Sub-Biome The Meadow. It can also spawn in;
- Large Meadow (Structure)
- Meadow Pen (Scene within Azeos' Wilderness)
- Meadow Spiral (Scene within Azeos' Wilderness)
It Will Produce Wool & Can Eat Any Farm-able Food Including Mushrooms and Bomb Peppers.
~
  • Strolly Poly
Mainly Found In The Forgotten Ruins/ Desert of Beginnings. It can also spawn in;
- Strolly Poly Camp (Structure within the Clay Caves)
It Will Produce Strolly Poly Plate & Can Eat Any Critters minus Glow Bugs.
~
  • Kelple
Found In The Sunken Sea
It Will Produce Kelp Dumpling & Can Eat Any Kelp.
~
  • Dodo
Found In Azeos' Wilderness/ Desert of Beginnings.
It Will Produce Dodo Egg & Can Eat Any Critters minus Glow Bugs.
~

--------
Other Mobs you can technically get products from are;
  • Acid Larva (Larva Meat + Other Drops)
  • Big Hive Larva (Larva Meat,Shiny Larva Meat + Other Drops)
  • Big Larva (Larva Meat, Shiny Larva Meat + Other Drops)
  • Caveling Skirmisher (Larva Meat + Other Drops)
  • Caveling Spearman (Larva Meat + Other Drops)
  • Clay Burrower (Marbled Meat + Other Drops)
  • Crystal Snail (Marbled Meat, Shiny Larva Meat, Gem Snail and Solarite Ore)
  • Hive Larva (Larva Meat + Other Drops)
  • Larva (Larva Meat + Other Drops)
  • Nature Worm (Marbled Meat + Other Drops)
  • Nilipede (Marbled Meat + Other Drops)
--------

:Automation:
--------
:List Of Items Needed:
--------
- Stone Brick Walls (Can Use other in-game variants)
- Feeding Trays
- Conveyor Belts
- Levers
- Electrical Wire
- Robot Arms

I also suggest enclosing the full thing (Minus your chest that'll hold all the produce) because Cattle will sometimes glitch out of their prisons and wander freely.
If you want you could technically set up spike traps so when they do escape you will get Marbled Meat out of it
--------
~Mob Farm & Automation~
Alright these two are some of the best farms I've created! Trust me I've tried many different ways to make them and these two just work!
Before you say it no Putting Mob & Caveling spawn tiles together didn't work for me and Using Drills didn't help either lol!

Now the first farm is perfect for beginners looking to save on materials, the only down side of it is having mobs either glitch out of it or the constant walking into the farm to pick up the items.
The Mob glitching could be easily fixed by a extra wall and spike traps in between the two- or a 3 layered wall can help as well.

The second is perfect for end game or people who just have way to much of one material!

PS. Skip to the bottom of this section if you just want the farms ;)
--------

So Since I have played a bit more I've worked out some kinks and such. Also with the new update you can now basically make bug farms. I'll most likely be updating this soon or never lol

and btw when I say "NEVER MAKE YOUR MOB FARM WIDER! ALWAYS MAKE IT LONGER!"I mean Vertical

Better off using something like this;

This tech has been known for years...

This guide is way too basic and the automations quite poor. You don't even understand the chunk spawn mechanics.

You said "NEVER MAKE YOUR MOB FARM WIDER! ALWAYS MAKE IT LONGER!"
Can you clarify what you mean? I'm not sure which dimension you're saying to make it longer in, X (horizontal) or Y (vertical), and why?
