How to fix the annoying “Innapropiate Name” Bug in MW2019

This guide will explain how to fix the annoying bug that appears to some users after booting up MW2019, which tells you to change your activision ID username because its “innapropiate”

Getting started: The basic stuff you will need

Before using this guide, this is all you are going to need:

A MW2019 copy already installed: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2000950/Call_of_Duty_Modern_Warfare/?l=spanish

The credentials of your activision account (with your steam account linked to it, just in case)

The moust recent cod HQ or warzone copy also installed (This will help us to change our username, i personally think its better than changing it from the ativision website, i havent tried it that way, but thats up to you)

The steps:

Install Your MW2019 copy, i suggest that you only install the multiplayer & XRK weapon pack if thats all you are going to play, since the whole game weights 220 GB

After you installed it, DONT OPEN IT, if you open it and try to change your name inside the game, your 2 activision change name tokens will still count as used, despite the fact this feature is bugged and dosent actually change your name if you do it inside MW2019.

Go to the most recent COD HQ version, you dont have to have the most recent COD game bought or anything, just using your free account is enough, even if you play via Steam or PC xbox game pass, like i do.

Go to the “Account & settings” tab and find the “change your username” tab and click it.

Now, when you are going to change your name, i would suggest that you use the moust generic, innofensive and calmest words you can think of for your username, this is because the name filter for this game is very strict.

As an example, i had to change my name from “Power16” to “JohnMan”, its kinda ridiculous that you have to do this, but it is what it is.

Sadly, i dont know what words or numbers could trigger this filter, since theres no 100% veridic information of this topic online, so, think of words and names that you think will not trigger it, and work with that.

Now, once you changed you name, COD HQ will restart, stat it up again and check again if you name has changed by following the steps mentioned before.

Now, start up MW2019 and you will see a screen that has your account details censored, click on the “reveal” Button thats down the screen and check if the account you have connected is your main activision account.

Continue doing what the game tells you, and then the game will ask you to restart, restart it and wait a few seconds.

After a few seconds have passed, boot up the game again, and it should let you in.

And there you go! you can now play MW2019 With no issues!

verify the integrity of game files, maybe that helps.

Right click the game, go to properties and go to installed files, then, verify them, theres a button right there.

No, i think that when you already used your 2 name change tokens, you gotta wait a bunch to reset them, i think it was 6 months for each or something, you can search more info on that online.
