The Fellowship of the Ring Trick-Taking Game

Description
The Fellowship of the Ring: Trick-Taking Game is a co-operative card game that plays out over eighteen chapters that lead players through the events of the novel The Fellowship of the Ring. The chapters can be played in any order, but ideally you play them in sequence.

In each chapter, each player takes a different character role — Frodo, Gandalf, Sam, Pippin, Farmer Maggot, etc. — and each character has a condition that must be met in order to pass the chapter and advance in the story. Frodo needs to capture ring cards, for example, while Pippin wants to take as few tricks as possible. As you advance through the chapters, new characters, items, and challenges are introduced to the game.

If you enjoy this mod, please purchase a physical copy of the game like I did! While I like TTS to play remotely, this game is especially fun in person!

Thank you! Will probably buy the physical game anyway, but gonna try here to see. Seems similar to The Crew, but has a single player component, which is why i care about it.

@DreamerPanda — I have changed the table to a larger, square one with more area and a map of the Middle-Earth as the surface. The map includes all locations from The Fellowship of the Ring that Frodo travels through, from Hobbiton to the Falls of Rauros. Thanks for the suggestion! :steamhappy:

@RMROC451 I've never tried coding for TTS, but I'm a FE dev I can help with HTML and such. On the other hand I saw other mods just having some buttons that the palyer click accordingly to the desired number of players

@WhiteRabbit, I've done some solo multi hand coding for some games before. The trick here is the 1p game makes a 4x4 matrix and the 2p game has that goofy pyramid.

Setup would require some kind of input html to detect how many players you were intending to play with (not just those seated).

I'm gonna keep tinkering with that on mine and if I find a good way to incorporate it to yours after I finish tinkering, I'll message you.

@Santucci — Same here! LOTR is an all-time favorite, and as a lifelong player of sheepshead I'm a big fan of trick-taking games. The beautiful, stained-glass style illustrations by Elaine Ryan and Samuel Shimota are the icing on the cake, elevating this to a truly superb game! :steamhappy:

@The Dire Daffodil — No prob, always happy to provide a quick fix, and thanks again for the heads-up! And yes, please let me know if you find any other issues as your group continues their playthrough, I'd like this mod to be 100% complete from start to finish. I'm thrilled you're finding it fun and valuable, that makes it all worthwhile! Thanks so much for the feedback! :steamhappy:

@WhiteRabbit Wow, thank you so much for the super quick update! I really appreciate how fast you fixed that—makes a huge difference for us. This mod is amazing because it lets me play with my friends who live far away, and it's been such a great way to experience the game together. That said, I love the art so much that I’m definitely going to get a physical copy as well!

We’re planning to play through all the scenarios, so if I run into anything else, I’ll be sure to let you know. Thanks again for all your work! 😊

@The Dire Daffodil Oh dang great catch, thanks! I hadn't noticed the additional cards listed on the Bridge of Khazad-Dûm event card, so I had overlooked those. I have now added Gandalf, Servant of the Secret Fire and the Balrog, which should both be visible when setting up Chapter 14: The Mines of Moria. The 8 Shadows cards are already included; those are simply the 1-8 of Shadows that are used in the Main Deck (this event has you move those cards into a facedown "Balrog Deck"). Thanks for the heads-up! :steamhappy:
